About the role
PartnerRe is a global leader in the Trade Credit and Political Risk reinsurance space. Our Portfolio is driven by meaningful participations on the market leading Trade Credit Insurers. We also maintain a diverse mix of Trade Credit and Political Risk clients throughout the world, maintaining a thought leader approach across the industry. In this leadership role of Global Product Leader for Credit and Political Risk, reporting to the Business Unit Leader, Financial Risks, specific job responsibilities include:
* Lead PartnerRe Group’s global Credit/PRI portfolio management and develop and execute our underwriting strategy.
* Build, develop and manage client and broker relationships in our operating geographies to generate target return on capital deployed for Credit and Political Risk.
* Manage all aspects of the Credit and Political Risk portfolio including dynamic portfolio management in line with risk appetite, underwriting decisions, broker and client liaison, account coordination among underwriting team and production to meet PartnerRe targets.
* Handle results-oriented underwriting by building-up, developing and monitoring a technically sound and profitable portfolio, including pricing in coordination with Pricing Actuaries and ensuring that all underwriting actions and decisions are properly documented.
* Develop and execute strategy in line with overall Financial Risks objectives in conjunction with Business Unit Leader.
* Acquire and maintain new profitable business in the respective business line.
* Provide a senior market presence and continue to build the PartnerRe brand with key clients and brokers.
* Support and foster a culture of agility, high performance, client centricity and solution-oriented decision making.
* Represent PartnerRe at market events, underwriting file reviews and workshops.
* Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and procedures.
* Work in concert with other PartnerRe Financial Risk underwriters to manage global accounts for consistency of approach and outward messaging.
* Support portfolio management and exposure/risk accumulations according to corporate guidelines.
* Interact effectively with other departments, namely: Actuarial, Global Accounts, Claims, Reserving, Technical Accounting, Legal & Compliance and Underwriting Office.
* Handle administrative tasks, including review of contractual documents and endorsement requests, data input, maintain data quality of portfolio, etc.
* Analyze and monitor market trends, economic and legal developments and assess impacts to PartnerRe.
About you
* Proven track record and a minimum of 15 years reinsurance/insurance underwriting experience in trade credit insurance and political risk insurance.
* Portfolio management and optimization experience with demonstrated ability to execute strategy in line with Surety NA risk appetite.
* Strong understanding of market trends, and application of such to identify improvement opportunities.
* Experience working in a diverse and multicultural environment.
* Solid commercial, negotiation and communication skills.
* Proven ability to deliver on defined targets and goals.
* Understanding of treaty pricing and reinsurance structuring.
* Self-motivated attitude with a high level of energy; Ability to be an effective lead team and develop others.
* Proficient skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Salesforce.
* Adaptable, open for new ideas and technology.
* Willingness to travel.
