As a Project Engineer for Black Utilities, you will support the Global Engineering Team during the planning, construction, and start-up phases of units and plants in the Black Utilities Infrastructure sector at the site. Your responsibilities will include developing and verifying ideas and requests, conducting feasibility and conceptual studies, and considering regulatory requirements and internal guidelines in collaboration with internal and external project partners. You will develop these ideas until they receive internal approval for execution. Once approved, your focus will shift to supporting the project execution until successful start-up. As an engineer, you will perform necessary calculations, generate required documents and specifications, and collaborate with internal and external partners until project completion, including as-built documentation.
Responsibilities:
Verify ideas and requests, and conduct feasibility and conceptual studies for projects up to internal approval, working alongside internal and external team members (Electrical, Measurement & Controls Engineering, Civil Engineering, HVAC Engineering, 3D Planning, Field Engineering/Construction Management, Fire Protection, General Planners, and other Subject Matter Experts).
Design and execute plant projects, coordinating internal and external engineering partners until successful plant start-up.
Support 3D coordination, resolve collisions, and implement adjustments as needed.
Take responsibility for commissioning and system acceptance, participating in integrated tests with general designers, internal engineering disciplines, and contractors. This includes the collection, control, and handover of as-built technical documentation to the end user and the system handover to the future owner and operator.
Perform additional tasks as required by the Global Engineering Team.
Candidate Profile:
BSc or MSc in Process or Chemical Engineering or a related field
3+ years of experience in project engineering, planning, construction, and start-up of plants in the Chemical, Pharmaceutical, or Biopharma industries
5+ years of experience in CAPEX Engineering and/or Operations Engineering in the Chemical, Pharmaceutical, or Biopharma industries
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary and complex environment
Well-structured thinking and precise working style
Fluent in German and English (C1 level minimum)
