The Global Corporate Affairs Operations Director will be a key strategic leader in advancing Medison's global reputation, driving impactful communication and public affairs strategies across multiple countries, and aligning with local business objectives to support Medison's overall growth and presence in the healthcare ecosystem. This position requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of the healthcare sector, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
Responsibilities
* Assess countries' status and gaps on the external affairs landscape- policy and regulatory challenges, SH engagement, Medison’s positioning
* Lead the development and execution of communication and public affairs strategies to support markets in positioning Medison, raising awareness of our brand, and fostering collaboration with relevant local communities
* Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including governments, regulatory bodies, and industry groups
* Act proactively to identify and resolve local communication and public affairs challenges, ensuring timely and effective responses to emerging issues.
* Monitor, analyze, and report on national policies and developments that impact the company or relevant therapeutic areas, ensuring timely responses to potential impacts
* Facilitate collaboration across HQ, regional offices, and external partners to localize global materials according to countries' situations and unique situations and drive cohesive messaging
* Develop guidance and training programs to build capabilities within the team, address specific needs, and enhance overall effectiveness in communication and public affairs.
* Act as a connector between countries, partners, and the Corporate Affairs team, ensuring that local needs and communication opportunities are elevated and addressed effectively
* Professionally manage and mentor a global team, ensuring knowledge sharing, alignment with business objectives, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in communication, public affairs, government relations, or a similar role within the global pharmaceutical industry.
* Experience in a regional or global position is strongly preferred.
* In-depth understanding of global healthcare policy, regulatory environments, and the pharmaceutical industry, focusing on key challenges and opportunities in the sector.
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Proven track record in managing successful public affairs campaigns and building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, industry groups, and other influencers.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
* Experience in crisis management, media relations, and developing proactive strategies to manage public perception.
* Strong ability to translate complex policy issues into clear, actionable strategies and communicate them effectively across various audiences.
* Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior management and teams across the organization on all matters related to communications, government affairs, and patient engagement.
