As the Global Category Manager - Components, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing global sourcing strategies to optimize our procurement processes and drive cost efficiencies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the supply chain meets the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute global category strategies for components.
2. Identify and qualify new suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships.
3. Conduct market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the mechanical components sector.
4. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes and cost savings.
5. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment of procurement activities with business objectives.
6. Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as necessary.
7. Lead and participate in cross-functional project teams to support new product development and introduction.
Qualifications:
8. Several years of experience in a professional procurement role, with a focus on direct procurement preferred; indirect experience considered if paired with a strong technical background.
9. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) is extremely beneficial as you will be working closely with engineering and R&D.
10. Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and contract management.
11. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different cultures and departments.
12. Professional fluency in English is essential; German language skills are beneficial but not essential.
13. Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
