The European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) is looking for a Marketing Communications Specialist to join its ESMO Marketing department.
MISSION OF THE POSITION
The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for project managing the full range of activities pertaining to the planning, implementation, review, measurement and reporting of projects in promotional communications of specific ESMO products. The ESMO products that will fall under the responsibilities of the Marketing Communications Specialist will be agreed with the Marketing Communications Manager. The Marketing Communications Specialist will develop strategies and devise tactics to get the desired promotional campaigns delivered, across multiple channels, to intended stakeholders in order to achieve ESMO’s defined objectives.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Under the guidance of the Marketing Communications Manager, plan and project manage promotional activities for the assigned ESMO products throughout all phases: preliminary analysis and research, marketing communication plan creation, coordination of resources, implementation of individual activities, review and monitoring, production of reports.
* The activities of the Marketing Communications Specialist are implemented in several key phases:
1. Preparation of promotion plan
2. Creation of first content for the ESMO website and for the support of industry sponsorship activities
3. Promotion of abstract submission in collaboration with the Programme team
4. Promotion of registration in collaboration with the Programme, Registration team and in-house scientific experts
5. Working with the ESMO Marketing Funnel to generate reporting and analysis in partnership with the Business Analysis Unit
6. Manage the creation and development of promotional materials for the assigned ESMO products, including working with the Branding and Digital teams and with external suppliers
7. Write, proofread and revise promotional messages (print and digital)
8. Manage all administrative and financial matters related to the promotional activities for the assigned ESMO products.

The Marketing Communications Specialist can come up with innovative ideas (new activities, new ways of implementing established activities) and propose them to the Marketing Communications team.

EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Basic training and specialization:
Bachelor Degree: Communication and/or Marketing Studies or equivalent professional experience
Required professional experience:
Strong experience in communication project management, with a particular focus on product promotional communication
Experience in analysing business needs, designing appropriate marketing communication plans and implementing them
Other marketing experience – a strong plus
SKILLS
Technical and professional skills:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office package, preferably Project Management tools, ability to learn new systems/software as required
Language skills:
Fluency in English
