Destinus is an aerospace technology company founded on the belief that, in the future, distance shouldn't matter at all. We are, therefore, building the near-space vehicle and the associated infrastructure. Moving at the border of Space, our hydrogen-powered cars are ten times faster than conventional aircraft, providing the just-in-time backbone for logistics, e-commerce, and supply chain companies who can't wait. We define a new class of fast our mission is to bring instantly your stuff to the other part of the world - and we mean it literally.
Task
An exciting opportunity to work as a Robotics & Control Engineer in an aerospace technology company. You can lead a team of passionate GNC engineers and contribute to GNC design and development activities. Working with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the research and development of guidance and navigation control systems and their deployment on final UAV products.
* Define the Control Laws and Algorithm Architecture for the onboard automation systems, including the Flight Controls and Navigation Systems.
* Identifying possible failure modes and defining robust contingency Control Laws to maintain safe flight.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system engineers and mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, to plan, design, develop, and integrate GNC solutions into UAVs.
* Defining and running computer simulations for the platforms (e.g., Matlab & Simulink).
* Work Package Management of a defined scope, actively driving the project work forward to achieve the agreed deliverables on time and within budget.
* Ensuring the integration of the GNC algorithms with the embedded system and executing validation testing.
Requirements
* Bachelor's or Postgraduate degree in one of the following: GNC Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Software Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
* 3+ years of industry or postgraduate experience in GNC Engineering.
* Strong applied math foundations; ability to derive algorithms related to guidance, navigation, and control (GNC).
* Experience in linear and non-linear feedback control system design.
* Experience with Kalman filtering.
* Experience with sensor fusion algorithms.
* Experience with simulation development.
* Experience in C development for embedded systems.
* Experience with version control systems like Git, enabling effective collaboration and code management.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, crucial for algorithm development and data analysis.
* Good communication skills, enabling effective collaboration.
* Fluent English speaker.
