Freelance Procurement Director - Pharmaceuticals - 12-Month Contract - Stein, Switzerland A global pharmaceutical company requires an experienced Procurement Director to lead the function on a major project. Reporting into the Global Procurement Team, this individual will be responsible for managing the procurement for a highly complex CAPEX project with corporate organizational interface and alignment of global and local standards. Responsibilities: Lead the commercial evaluation and advice on incoming bids (EPCM, equipment, Engineering suppliers). Internal alignment with internal stakeholders (e.G., legal, SMEs, and finance). Act as escalation point on ongoing pending suppliers. Support the technical SME in commercial questions. Emphasize a proactive, systematic approach to detect and avert delays to contractual milestones agreed upon. Participate in project meetings to provide updates and status of documents submittals. Ensure that updates are provided to all relevant stakeholders on any initiated mitigations on catch-up and improvements. Review status reports for any potential problems and initiate mitigating actions for potential risk areas. Visit field/suppliers on a regular basis, align with engineering and other stakeholders for actual status and progress throughout the project. Report and update on own packages. Make and drive some RFQs (strategy, Tender, Evaluations negotiations, and contracting) on client’s own contracts. Be a meticulous file keeper, lead a procurement team and associated support functions using the RFQ tool used by the project. Requirements: Demonstrated ability to recognize opportunities, strongly influence the setting of direction, and exceed expectations on deliverables. Prior experience with controllership, product costing, and data stewardship. Technical proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and SAP. Excellent communication/facilitation and influencing skills. Project Management skills. Analytical and organizational skills. Project planning and implementation skills. Overall manufacturing business knowledge. Demonstrated commercial skills. Experience delivering capital projects > $million. Degree level of education in Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Business related field or Degree level education in any discipline with relevant experience.
