Job Description
Kopter is currently developing the AW09, a next generation single-engine helicopter. This aircraft boasts the largest cabin and cargo hold in its category, increased modularity, and modern electronic systems.
The AW09 delivers the latest safety standards, along with enhanced performance and comfort at low operating costs. As part of Leonardo, Kopter will become the Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters and an incubator of new technologies, driving advancements in hybrid and electrical propulsion systems.
The company's 320 talented team members are primarily based in Switzerland, near Zurich and in Mollis (Canton of Glarus).
Your Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee Engineering activities and deliverables according to schedule and requirements.
2. Coordinate Engineering deliverables and needs within the department and with other stakeholders: Operations, Procurement, Program.
3. The scope of work will depend on the candidate's profile and may evolve over time, depending on business needs.
Key Tasks:
1. Develops and performs overall technical planning, identifying critical paths and ensuring correct priorities are set, managing mitigation plans to avoid schedule drift.
2. Supervises timely execution of established plans, communicates deviations, and ensures regular reporting on status, progress, and criticality of ongoing work.
3. Provides coordination across multi-disciplinary design and testing teams, supporting design and/or technical reviews, interfacing with program management and other company functions; facilitates communication flow across all design areas, harmonizing tasks while respecting schedule and budget constraints.
4. Gathers and consolidates technical risks and opportunities, manages associated mitigation plans.
5. Gathers and consolidates necessary budgets to execute technical activities.
6. Controls engineering costs, communicates deviations, and supports identification/implementation of possible recovery actions.
7. Contributes to CTO internal reporting on progress, planning, risk, and opportunities.
Minimum Requirements
1. Minimum 5 years' experience in design, development, testing of aerospace (rotary or fixed wing aircraft).
2. Minimum 2 years' experience with certification activities CS23 / CS25 / CS27 / CS29.
3. Experience in coordinating technical activities or projects in the aerospace industry.
4. Experience in planning, controlling, risk, and opportunity management.
5. PMP an asset.
6. Strong communication and presentation skills.
7. Autonomous, self-motivated, structured person.
8. Able to work in high-paced environment.
9. English minimum B2 (verbal and written), Italian an asset.
