For our location in Zurich, we are looking for a General Cargo Manager to start as soon as possible.
YOUR FURTHER ROLE:
* Build, lead, and inspire an operations team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
* Implement best practices in work organization, compliance with labor laws and regulations.
* Monitor and enhance performance metrics, including service quality, productivity, and response times, through coaching and training.
* Conduct staff evaluations, identify development and training requirements.
* Ensure smooth onboarding of new team members and support career progression within the team.
Communication & Reporting
* Facilitate clear and efficient communication across the organization.
* Develop and document processes and ensure their applications.
* Provide regular reports on activities and performance key indicators.
Customer & Business Management
* Act as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring service excellence.
* Support commercial teams in responding to tenders or account opening.
* Monitor outstanding invoices and assist in customer follow-ups.
Technical Expertise
* Bring expertise in freight forwarding, import/export, and cross-trading, with a strong focus on seafreight, airfreight, and customs clearance.
* Support the team in managing complex shipments, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth execution of transportation operations.
* Collaborate on process improvement initiatives, implementing innovative solutions to optimize service levels and cost efficiency.
* Understand and anticipate client transportation needs, ensuring efficient and reliable logistics solutions.
* Occasionally manage transport files from booking to final delivery, ensuring all documentation and requirements are met.
* Lead issue resolution efforts, managing escalations and ensuring customer satisfaction.
