Position: Summer Campus Monitor (3 weeks)

Overall Responsibilities
Pre-College students are managed by FUS faculty and staff and are supervised by a Summer Campus Monitor (SCM). The SCM will be responsible for the safety, health and well-being of the students participating in the summer High School program (Global Green Initiative).
The SCM will live on campus in the program’s residence halls and enforce all Franklin University Switzerland and Swiss policies and regulations connected to residential living and monitor and attend all programs taking place outside of class time.
The SCM is expected to be engaged with the students and the program, ensure that students are properly supervised at all times, and act as a role model and build appropriate relationships while demonstrating mature and responsible behavior.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
* Serve as a resource, mentor, role model, authoritative figure, and University representative.
* Supervise the Residence where students will be residing by providing direction on residential living in Switzerland, and conducting curfew and room checks.
* Develop, coordinate and carry out all extracurricular activities and events including evening and weekend activities.
* Support and accompany participants to the appropriate health care facility in the event of an illness or accident.
* Be available for afternoon and evening tutorials related to class activities and projects, coordinating with the FUS Professor running the program.
* Provide pre-departure information for students and parents as they prepare for the program.
* Greet, direct, and orient program participants and parents during check-in and check-out.
* Accompany students on all public transport.
* Accompany the students during all mealtimes and co-curricular activities.
* Serve in an on-call duty role to provide support for parents and FUS staff in case of any emergency.
* Travel with group during excursions away from campus and continue duties as stated above.
Requirements:
* Must have a demonstrated interest in working with rising high school juniors and seniors in a residential college environment (students aged 15-18 years old).
* Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrates understanding and respect for diverse backgrounds and experiences, adapting communication and support to individual needs.
* Must be capable of working both independently as a self-starter and within a team, as well as the ability to work cooperatively to coordinate events and planned activities.
* Must maintain a positive and professional demeanor. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Schedule and Hours
The Summer Campus Monitor will live on campus from the beginning of the training period until the day following the end of programming. Estimated Hours are 8 hours per day including weekends. On-call availability required.
Training Days: 7 - 13 July 2025
Pre-College Summer Session: 14 - 27 July 2025
Last Day: 28 July 2025
Position Type: Full-Time fixed duration position.
Compensation: 2700 CHF
A single residence hall room will be provided for the entirety of training week and the Pre-College Summer Session. Free laundry facilities in the residence hall will be provided as well as meals.
