Company: LRQALRQA is seeking a Senior Consultant with demonstrated experience in supply chain human rights and environmental due diligence, responsible sourcing and supplier engagement to join our Advisory team in Mexico and accelerate the development and growth of our strategic ESG due diligence, risk management, and special investigation work. We are looking for a highly motivated, passionate professional to join our team and support clients to address their most pressing sustainability and supply chain challenges. This role will require an investigative and curious mindset and an individual who can approach social and environmental due diligence and risk management from a strategic, problem-solving angle. You will work with private-sector clients, many of which are major global and regional companies, spanning a variety of sectors, including consumer goods, retail, food/agriculture, real estate, and finance. You will be part of the Americas Advisory team and will work with, and learn from, LRQA experts from teams across the globe. Key Responsibilities: Serve as both project and business development lead for major client relationships; establish yourself as a key client thought partner and point of contact. Plan and manage projects in a way that accounts for and ensures profitability and client value. Take accountability for timely and high-quality service delivery, project staffing, efficient workplans and client management, taking corrective action as needed, to fill any shortfall at any stage. Manage associates and/or consultants, as part of project work and/or as part of independent managerial duties; set clear expectations for team members and provide timely and useful feedback. Build positive team environment; should be viewed internally as a team leader. Business Development (30%): Actively contribute to business development efforts, including expanding existing client relationships and generating/cultivating opportunities with new clients. From origination to sale closing against your agreed annual sales targets. You will be accountable for timely and high-quality service delivery, project staffing, efficient workplans and client management, taking corrective action as needed, to fill any shortfall at any stage. Lead and/or actively participate in all parts of the business development process: end-to-end proposal writing, presentations, budget preparation, and communication/negotiation with clients and potential clients. Product Development / Knowledge Management (15%): Participate in product development and refinement and play an active role in knowledge management efforts, working together with peers across the organization to ensure continuous improvement and efficiency. Develop thought leadership at the organizational level, including by writing LI posts, newsletters, and technical articles. Other: Role model LRQA behaviours to drive a customer-centric, performance-oriented, commercially accountable organisational culture. Pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, industry knowledge and awareness. Play an active role to support the regional Advisory team to manage, mentor and support team consultants and associates. Develop team members to build capacity and capability through supporting recruitment, performance management, talent and succession planning, training and development to build and sustain high performers. Support addressing growth-related challenges to deliver our ambitious targets as part of our Advisory strategy and full potential plan. Contribute to the implementation of a strategy aligned with the overall regional and Advisory vision to deliver against actionable goals, sales and revenue targets provided to ensure delivery against the performance and growth ambitions. Contribute to effective and efficient running of internal operations and ensuring the business is on a solid footing operationally. Key health & safety responsibilities: Eliminate or minimise employee exposure to risks by regularly reviewing the health and safety risk register, applying appropriate controls, communicating results of risk assessments, and ensuring health and safety is considered in the planning and execution of all LRQA activities. Manage your own, and your team’s, compliance with health and safety rules, instructions, systems and legal requirements to ensure employees are suitably trained and adequate resources are available to work safely. Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements: At least 7+ years of proven experience in responsible sourcing, human rights and environmental due diligence, ESG-focused investor relations, sustainability strategy or similar required. Previous experience in Consulting firms is a plus. A master’s degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field preferred. Has a proven track record of selling and supporting client accounts. Can demonstrate a strong commercial acumen with recent examples of developing and delivering successful value propositions for global clients/brands as part of the sales team. Demonstrable client-facing sales experience, with a history of success. Ability to communicate fluently in English. Fluency in Portuguese is a plus. Expertise in ratings, standards, and regulatory frameworks (such as HREDD legislation, ESG ratings, EU taxonomy, TCFD, SBTi, CDP, GRI, SASB, NFRD/CSRD, etc.) and proven ability to translate this expertise into needs-based solutions and results. Experienced in preparing and delivering proposal presentations, with recent examples. Experience in managing multi-product proposals. Demonstrable experience in working proactively and collaboratively across diverse teams to achieve growth strategies and targets. Knowledge of standard IT programmes, including Salesforce and comfortable in using proprietary software for business processes. Capacity to work across different time zones and to hold meetings outside of regular local working hours.
