Responsibilities:
Monitor and optimize automated assembly production processes of light sources in the visible or near-infrared wavelength range, based on micro-optical components to achieve performance targets.
Identify inefficiencies in the production process and propose improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and minimize defects.
Lead or support process improvement projects and train staff on best practices.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of automated packaging platforms (assembly robots) and on semiconductor chip testing platforms (testing robots).
Conduct experiments to analyze process variations and tolerances for estimating production yields and designing manufacturing processes with high volumes and throughput. Establish process specifications, drive process qualifications and write the process documentation.
Support transition and production ramp-up of new products from prototypes to high-volume products.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
The candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's degree in Mechatronic, Automation, Robotics or similar fields.
Experience in Statistical Process Control (SPC) or other tools related to production performance and quality.
He/she must have 2+ years of experience in a production environment.
He/she must be very hands-on and be able to troubleshoot complex automated manufacturing equipment.
He/she must have strong analytical skills and a knack for innovative solutions to technically challenging problems.
Desired Skills:
Knowledge and experience in optics and mechanical design would be a plus.
Certification in Lean or Six Sigma or process improvement methodologies would be a plus.
