Main Purpose:
The Global Head of Storage will oversee the company's third-party storage lease position, which currently incurs expenditures exceeding $1 billion annually.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Experience in the Energy terminals industry
* Strong commercial understanding of market costs and economics
* Deep knowledge of storage logistics, including warehouse management, inventory control, and transportation, with familiarity of regulatory requirements and best practices
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations
* Strong leadership skills, with experience in building and managing high-performing teams in a global environment
* Proven track record of driving operational excellence in a global commodity trading environment
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications are an asset.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a data-driven strategy to secure optimal rates and locations for the company's storage needs
* Oversee the storage approval process, internal data flows, and reporting across all business lines
* Create and execute strategic plans for storage operations to support the company's trading activities and growth objectives
* Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards for storage facilities, including warehouses, tanks, and other infrastructure
* Optimize inventory management processes to minimize holding costs, maximize utilization, and mitigate risks associated with commodity price fluctuations and market dynamics
* Collaborate with trading teams to forecast storage requirements, optimize inventory levels, and develop hedging strategies to manage price risk
* Negotiate contracts with storage providers, monitor service levels, and ensure cost-effective and reliable storage solutions
* Lead and develop a high-performing team of storage professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to drive continuous improvement and achieve operational excellence
* Stay informed about industry trends, technology advancements, and regulatory changes affecting storage operations, and recommend innovative solutions to improve efficiency and competitiveness
* Publish regular reports and analysis on storage performance, inventory levels, and operational KPIs, and present findings to senior management to inform decision-making
