NYSE-listed AgEagle Aerial Systems is seeking a talented, experienced (five plus years) and motivated GNC and Aerodynamics engineer who will focus on defining GNC systems specifications and autopilot architecture, as well as algorithms and prototype development for our systems. The ideal candidate will possess a wide variety of engineering skills, people skills, and should be an expert in all aspects of GNC and Aerodynamics.
Guidance Navigation & Control
1. Define GNC systems specifications closely with the Head of Technology
2. Propose autopilot architecture in line with standards and specifications
3. Provide management support related to the following matters:
4. Design and validation of Navigation and sensor fusion algorithms (Kalman filters)
1. Sensor (IMU/GNSS/Barometer/distance) specification, integration and calibration
2. Modelling the behavior of our products with identification techniques
3. Embedded implementation
4. Field testing and debugging
5. Path planning and guidance
6. Control laws
7. Estimation algorithms
5. Ensure specifications, presentations, and reports supporting the above activities are adequate for internal and external support
6. Provide a strong interface with other teams and facilitate efficient and effective cross-discipline working
7. Encourage and enable the team for delivery of work products considering cost, quality and deadlines
8. Support continuous improvement of relevant systems and procedures
Aerodynamics
1. Define Aerodynamics specifications closely with the Head of Technology
2. Propose aerodynamic design improvements aimed at enhancing drone flight
3. Provide expertise to assess solutions through a dual theoretical and experimental approach
4. Prototype the proposed solutions and validate samples
5. Develop aerodynamic calculation tools to complement the experimental approach
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in aeronautics and/or mechanical or related engineering degree
2. Ability to acquire in-depth product knowledge and technical understanding
3. Ability to work within a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team environment
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact with a range of people including key customers, business managers, R&D engineers, technicians, and operators
5. Strong analytical skills
6. Highly proficient in written and spoken French with business-level English.
