H55 is a technological spin-off of Solar Impulse, the first electric airplane to fly around the world. Our mission is to make aviation clean, safe, and affordable.
We develop propulsion and energy storage solutions that are modular, lightweight, and certifiable. We have integrated and flown 4 electric airplanes and have been selected by Pratt & Whitney Canada to provide the battery pack for its regional hybrid-electric flight demonstrator.
About the Role
In the frame of our product development (Electric Propulsion System and Modular Battery Pack), we are searching for a Senior Software Model Based Engineer.
You will report to the Software Team Leader and be responsible for:
* Developing embedded model-based software in accordance to requirements to meet DO-178 / DO-331 certification objectives;
* Establishing a model-based software architecture that fulfills full model and code coverage;
* Participating in simulation and test procedures using MIL, SIL and HIL to verify the functionality, safety, and compliance of the model-based software;
* Preparing simulation cases and test result reports suitable for requirement validation and verification;
* Participating in maintaining company Standards and Processes.
Your Profile
We are looking for someone with:
* A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software engineering or a related field;
* Experience as a Software Model Based Engineer in Aviation (5+ years);
* Experience in design, simulation, testing, and debugging using Matlab Simulink products;
* Experience in MIL, SIL and HIL Testing;
* Ability to express design with requirements;
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
* Good communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills;
* Fluent English, French is a plus but not mandatory.
Nice to Have
We would like someone with:
* Knowledge about DO-331, DO-178, ARP-4754 and ARP-4761 standards or guidelines to be able to interpret the safety impact of the software at the system level;
* Experience with Power Electronics;
* Experience with Battery Management System;
* Familiarity with the DO-Qualification kit and related toolboxes of Matlab-Simulink.
