Our Team in Haag, Switzerland is Looking for a Development Engineer – Flow Control in Vacuum (100%)
The manufacturing of a high-end microchip requires over 1000 production steps. Vacuum valves and gas flow control devices are critical components as they impact process performance. Semiconductor fabs like Intel, Samsung, or TSMC have increasing expectations for productivity and production yield.
To address these challenges, we need a specialist with passion for fluid dynamics, control theory, and system modelling to develop advanced control algorithms for fast processes using VAT's existing gas delivery and process control technology.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement advanced control algorithms for fast processes
2. Technical project leadership: Definition and alignment on specifications with key stakeholders, concept creation, development, and testing in rapid prototyping systems and functional verification using the final products
3. Design, perform, and document experiments including results in an organized and structured way
4. Collaborate among cross-functional teams of experts within VAT R&D organization and external technology partners
5. Provide occasional on-site support of newly developed applications/products at customer sites
Your Competencies:
1. Engineering Degree (MSc or PhD) in control engineering, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, physics, or similar
2. Knowledge in fluid dynamics and control system theory
3. 3+ years of experience with gas sensing and control technology, including in-depth knowledge of MFC, MFM, GFC components, and their applications
4. 3+ years of experience with advanced control algorithms and their modelling in industrial applications of gas flow systems
5. Practical experience with deploying control systems on embedded hardware is a plus
6. Knowledge in fluid dynamics theory for vacuum applications is advantageous
7. A hands-on, systematic approach, creative thinker with problem-solving skills and team spirit
