The world leader in in-vitro diagnostics, Roche Diagnostics in Rotkreuz (ZG), is looking for a motivated team player as a Biospecimen Specialist.
The Biospecimen Acquisition & Management team (BAM) at Roche Diagnostics International (RDI) leads the acquisition and management of biological materials and clinical samples with associated data designed to facilitate and advance local R&D activities. BAM collaborates with various Life Cycle Teams, Projects, and Functional Areas to ensure that customer requirements for biological materials are agreed upon, communicated periodically, and met in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices, Good Clinical Data Management Practices, Quality, and Business standards.
This position will be based at the RDI campus located in Rotkreuz, Switzerland.
The perfect candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Science and brings experience in handling biological specimens and a willingness to work with potentially infectious biological material. The candidate should have knowledge in MS Excel and Google Suite. Fluency in English is required, and German is a plus.
Your Tasks & Responsibilities:
* Manage and perform biological material supply, receipt, registration, shipment, returns, verification activities, retrievals, inventory searches, and identify and resolve discrepancies in a validated environment to meet stakeholder and/or business needs.
* Collaborate with the relevant permitting agencies, import/export compliance, and local Safety and Biorepository Teams to comply with permit requirements.
* Maintain information in a validated laboratory information management system compliant with GxP principles and standards.
* Assume responsibility for accuracy, quality, and timeliness of work within supported projects and respond appropriately to changing priorities.
Your Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Science.
* Experience in handling biological specimens and willingness to work with potentially infectious biological material (Biosafety level 2).
* Proficient with MS Excel and Google Suite.
* Able to lift 30lbs, work in a cold environment with limited daylight, stand for long periods, and climb ladders.
* Self-motivated and solution-driven individual who can maintain quality, accuracy, and timeliness of deliverables.
* Ability to follow standard procedures and a strong understanding of the concept of biospecimen traceability.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment efficiently; capable of handling multiple projects.
* Good organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder management.
* Team player, self-organized, and motivated individual.
* Meticulous attention to detail.
Nice to Have:
* Experience in biospecimen acquisition, biobanking, clinical trial management, interfacing with stakeholders and/or project management.
* Experience in research, diagnostics, pharmaceutical, CRO, or medical device industry.
* Experience in the use of LIMS or other validated systems.
* Understanding of regulatory requirements related to diagnostics.
* German language skills.
