Audis entry into the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026 marks a new era in motorsport. Our team operates from two state-of-the-art locations: the Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg, Germany, and the Sauber Group's factory in Hinwil, Switzerland. The Power Unit originates from Neuburg, while Hinwil focuses on chassis development and race operations.
Your Mission
* Work as a surface expert within our Aerodynamics department for the Formula 1 project.
* Closely collaborate with aerodynamicists and CFD engineers.
* Main activity: generate complex surface models via the CATIA 3DExperience CAD system.
* Continuously improve and maintain sophisticated surface model methodologies.
* Enhance aerodynamic performance in collaboration with Aerodynamicists, other Aero Designers, and across departments under tight deadlines.
* Develop innovative aerodynamic concept studies within the CAD system.
* Prepare CAD models for CFD calculations and further develop them with Aerodynamicists.
Your Profile
* Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
* Previous experience in motorsport Formula 1 is highly valued.
* Minimum 2 years of professional experience in surface design.
* Familiarity with designing complex surface models in CATIA V5/V6/3Dx.
* Detailed knowledge of the GSD workbench.
* Strong visualization skills and imagination.
* Excellent teamwork, organizational, and communication skills.
* Passion for working in a high-tech environment and fascinated by motorsport.
* Ability to work independently with great attention to detail.
* Stress-tolerant, persistent, open-minded, and innovative individual who can focus well in a team environment.
* Full proficiency in English and German, with a willingness to learn the corresponding language.
