Job Description: BACKGROUND ON IMPACT AND REACH REACH was born in 2010 as a joint initiative of two International NGOs (IMPACT Initiatives and ACTED) and the United Nations Operational Satellite Applications Programme (UNOSAT). REACH’s purpose is to promote and facilitate the development of information products that enhance the humanitarian community’s decision making and planning capacity for emergency, reconstruction and development contexts.
POSITION PROFILE Title : Senior Assessment Officer (SAO)
Contract duration: Open-ended

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The REACH SAO will support the below core areas of work:
Supporting global Research & Development on inter-sectoral analysis Oversight of the direction of this sub-workstream
Implementation of key workflows, in collaboration with the R&D team
Produce global MSNA analysis based on consolidation and standardization of large country datasets
Develop technical recommendations on the direction of REACH cross-crisis analysis methods
Produce global MSNA analysis products
Support communications and dissemination activities at global level
Direct external engagement with global stakeholders, donors, and other REACH partners
Country support and engagement Technical support and guidance to REACH MSNA country teams
Ad hoc surge support including country deployment up to 20%
REQUIREMENTS Excellent academic qualifications, including Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
At least 2 years of experience in the humanitarian sector
Experience with designing and implementing primary research
Excellent communication and drafting skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Familiarity with the humanitarian system and global humanitarian policy frameworks
Willingness to engage in short term field deployments
Ability to operate in a cross-cultural environment
A self-starter with proven ability to work independently
Fluency in English required; proficiency in French or a second relevant language an asset
Prior experience leading the design or implementation of MSNAs an asset
Familiarity with GIS principles and experience using GIS software an asset
Experience developing, testing or otherwise working with multidimensional indices an asset
Ability to operate InDesign, a strong plus
Ability to operate R, or a related statistical programming an asset
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS For this position, gross salary between 5’500 CHF and 5’770 CHF monthly (before income tax). A contribution to medical insurance of 520 CHF per month is included in the salary figure.
Insurance covering professional and non-professional accidents throughout the period of employment with IMPACT.
Health insurance, life insurance and repatriation assistance in case of field visits.
Up to 40% of remote work on a weekly basis.
