Job description: Responsibilities will include: Design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes clusters in an OpenShift environment using GitOps practices. Develop and implement strategies for container orchestration, scaling, and management. Support development teams in their use of container technology. Utilise shell scripting, Python, or Golang for automation and management tasks. About the customer: This is an initial contract running for 12 months with option to extend on a long term basis based on the project road maps, with start date flexible. Joining a highly professional and diverse Agile team of 5 System Engineers based in Switzerland you would cover operational work (60%) with project assignment responsibilities (40%). The primary responsibilities include designing, implementing, and managing Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. The team are responsible for design, implementation, and support for the container orchestration for Hybrid Cloud infrastructure. In addition, supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of and third-level support for enterprise-class software and hardware (front and back end) in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment. Requirements: In order to be considered for this role, you will possess as many of the following skills as possible: Very good technical knowledge in Openshift/Kubernetes platform administration and engineering, Expert knowledge in container technology, especially ability to design, administer and implement Kubernetes environment Fluency with code management solutions, particularly GIT and CI/CD tools. Proficiency in Bash, Python, and/or Golang, to assist in the maintenance and development of tools that manage a Kubernetes platform. Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems administration experience. Proven track record in providing third-level support and design input in an enterprise environment. Excellent command of English and strong communication skills. Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team to achieve common goals. The following are nice to have but not mandatory: Experience with automation tools, preferably Ansible Experience with systems monitoring, ideally Prometheus. Logging experience with Grafana Loki. Experience with Ceph Storage and OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF). Broad understanding of ITIL fundamentals and their application in a business environment. Knowledge of networking, server infrastructure, and virtualization environments.
