The Roche Group Communications (GC) function strategically manages and coordinates all facets of communication — business partnering, internal, external, and digital communications — across our organisation. We align communication strategies with business goals, fostering collaboration and synergy between departments and regions.
The Opportunity
As a member of the Group Communications function and working in close partnership with our Centres of Excellence, The Head of Pharma International Communications leads a team of communicators who collaborate with above-country commercial and policy teams. The primary goal of this team is to support our country's communicators to meaningfully contribute to the short and long term commercial success of our company. They aim to achieve this through innovative public relations strategies that ensure rapid access to our portfolio of products and solutions. The role will report to the Head of Pharma Communications.
In this position, you will:

Set an ambitious, impact focused vision and coach an international team of communicators to act as catalysts for change that enables speedy and broad access to our strategic portfolio of products and solutions

Take a global view of Pharma International’s positioning, profiling and market shaping efforts: stay abreast of company developments and market trends to ensure opportunities are leveraged and risks minimised

Identify and build partnerships and platforms which will further Roche’s strategic priorities: whether amplifying existing opportunities or building them from scratch, the focus is on impact

Lead engagement programmes that support the organisation through change

Act as sparring partner, advisor and inspiration-sparker for the Head of Pharma International and other senior leaders

As a member of the Pharma International Network Enabling Team and the Pharma Communications Enabling Team, it is required that the person leading this team acts and thinks as an enterprise leader, with a competitive mindset.

You bring the following qualifications, skills & experience:
Qualifications

Bachelors or Master degree from a leading university plus 10+ years of relevant work experience with strong exposure to the healthcare industry.

Top tier international agency, in-house or consulting experience desired
-
Business Partner to the Head of Pharma International and the Head of Pharma International I7 Areas, and member of the Pharma International Network Enabling Team

Languages: Must be business fluent in English
Skills & Experience

External product and disease area public relations experience is essential preferably in the biotech/pharmaceutical sector plus international work experience required

Experience working with and coaching senior leaders

Team leadership experience and matrix leadership of cross-functional and cross-cultural teams as well as projects

Used to working in a highly networked environment and influencing decision making
