We are seeking a highly skilled IBM MQ Administrator to join our Application Integration team here in Zürich. You will be responsible for managing, configuring, and maintaining our Finance Messaging Infrastructure based on IBM MQ and IBM App Connect Enterprise to ensure seamless data flow and integration across various applications and systems within the organization. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our messaging infrastructure.
YOUR CHALLENGE
1. Install, configure, and upgrade IBM MQ servers and clients in various environments including development, testing, and production.
2. Monitor the health and performance of MQ systems, perform regular maintenance, and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
3. Implement and manage security protocols for MQ environments, including user authentication, authorization, and encryption.
4. Create and manage queues, channels, and other MQ objects, ensuring optimal configuration and performance.
5. Develop and maintain scripts for automating routine tasks and improving system efficiency.
6. Maintain detailed documentation of MQ configurations, processes, procedures, and backup and disaster recovery plans
7. Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical integration issues, ensuring prompt resolution of incidents, and work closely with development and operations teams to resolve incidents and problems.
8. Conduct performance tuning and optimization of MQ systems to meet business requirements.
9. Ensure MQ environments adhere to organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
YOUR PROFILE
Required Skills and Experience
10. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IBM MQ administration.
11. Proficiency in IBM MQ installation, configuration, and administration.
12. Strong knowledge of MQ clustering, Hub’n’Spoke, pub/sub, and multi-instance queue managers.
13. Experience with MQ security including SSL/TLS encryption and channel authentication.
14. Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
15. Understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and networking concepts.
16. Experience with monitoring tools and techniques for MQ systems.
17. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
18. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
19. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause identification and resolution.
20. Strong verbal and written communication skills in both German and English, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
21. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
22. Certification in IBM MQ Administrator V8.0 or higher.
23. Previous experience in a similar role within industries such as finance, healthcare, or retail.
24. Experience with other messaging systems like RabbitMQ, Kafka, or ActiveMQ is a plus.
25. Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices.
26. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Educational Background
27. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
