We are looking for a Automation Global Capex Category Buyer to join our client's team (pharmaceutical industry) as a consultant.
Your Responsibilities
As a member of the Global Category Team for Construction, Fit-out and Automation, the Automation category specialist manages procurement category activities in investment projects and coordinates with Capex Lead buyers to plan and execute projects across all locations globally.
Your duties include:
Define and implement the purchasing strategy as well as objectives for the department or suppliers, taking into account the market situation and product classification;
Lead and be responsible for large and complex RFx tender projects, from start to finish;
Manage demand and capacity with key suppliers and internal stakeholders for Capex automation and instrumentation projects;
Manage supplier relationships with strategic partners (develop action plans, manage relationships, evaluate new suppliers, and handle key account activities);
Monitor markets for technological and regulatory trends;
Provide regular reports on market intelligence regarding lead times, prices, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A);
Develop execution strategies for category and project procurement;
Lead and support the procurement of hardware, software, and licensing models according to project requirements.
It is both an operational and strategic role. These duties are not exhaustive and may evolve based on the recruited candidate.
About You
Technical or Commercial training (Process engineering, chemical engineering, business management, project management, supply chain, procurement, electrical or Computer Engineering). Relevant certifications in procurement, automation, or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, Six Sigma) are a plus.
At least 2-3 years of experience in procurement, buying, or supply chain management (experience within the pharmaceutical or biotech sector is a plus). Familiarity with procurement automation tools or interest in process automation is desirable.
You possess/are:
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams;
Strong analytical skills;
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines;
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with procurement software and automation tools is a plus (e.g., SAP, Ariba, Oracle);
Solution-oriented approach, strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities;
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
Fluent English is required.
For this position, you must be 3 days on-site.
