Our client, a Swiss-based company specializing in petroleum storage and supply, is looking for a seasoned professional to oversee daily operations as their Technical and Operations Manager.
About the Role
This position involves managing faults, collaborating with external engineering firms, and ensuring sufficient manpower is available to maintain infrastructure. The Technical and Operations Manager will work closely with the Project Manager and Compliance Manager to align technical activities with the company's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise the Maintenance Team Leader and operators to ensure preventive and corrective maintenance of facilities, including pipelines, tanks, pumping stations, and hydrant systems.
* Guarantee equipment availability to prevent disruptions to fuel distribution operations.
* Oversee design and feasibility studies of technical projects.
* Determine technical specifications of equipment and materials required for the company's infrastructure.
* Coordinate interventions during breakdowns or malfunctions, ensuring swift and accurate diagnoses.
* Perform root cause analyses to identify underlying issues and implement sustainable solutions.
* Develop and document work programs for maintenance activities and technical interventions.
* Manage Accompanying Bulletins (BA).
* Ensure teams adhere to clear protocols and optimized schedules.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or equivalent.
* Prior experience in industrial maintenance or petroleum infrastructure is an asset.
* Audit certification is advantageous.
* Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role, including team management and technical expertise.
* Strong knowledge of EHS working practices on a construction site.
* Experience in an industrial or airport environment is highly beneficial.
* Fluency in French and English is mandatory.
* Residency in the Geneva area, within a 20km radius, is essential.
Essential Skills:
* Technical acumen: In-depth understanding of petroleum and airport infrastructure, including pipelines, storage tanks, pumping stations, and hydrant systems. Ability to diagnose complex technical issues and collaborate with external engineering firms.
* Team leadership: Experience in supervising and motivating a small maintenance team. Strong planning, delegation, and monitoring skills for maintenance and operation activities.
* Alarm management and interventions: Competence in managing critical alarms with rapid response capabilities. Efficient coordination with specialist service providers to resolve issues swiftly and sustainably.
* Cross-functional collaboration: Preparation and documentation of work programs for maintenance activities and technical interventions. Ensuring teams follow clear protocols and optimized schedules.
* Planning and optimization: Ability to plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Identifying and implementing technical improvements to optimize facility performance.

* Availability of facilities: Ensuring critical infrastructure remains operational under unforeseen conditions.
