About the team you are joining:
The IT and Data Project Management Office’s (I&D PMO) goal is to enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of IATA Software Project Management practices. A PMO is a centralized function within an organization that provides support, governance, and oversight for projects and project management activities. As part of the IATA I&D PMO, the Business Analyst (BA) collaborates with Project Managers (PMs) and Test Managers under the lead of the Global Head of the Program Office.
What your day would be like:
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the I&D Business Analyst acts as the bridge and main liaison between Business and I&D. They are responsible for analyzing and eliciting requirements from the subject matter experts and ensuring those are understood and well-documented throughout the project lifecycle, collaborating closely with the Project Manager, Solution Architect, Test Manager, as well as the vendor or internal development team.
The Business Analyst contributes to the successful implementation of solutions by providing insights, recommendations, and support throughout the software project lifecycle.
This role is offered on a temporary basis to cover a maternity leave for a period of 8 months.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Elicitation: Collaborate with the business stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate business requirements. Ensure requirements are clear, complete, and aligned.
Requirement Analysis: Analyze and prioritize together with the product owner the business requirements, assess their feasibility, and provide recommendations for solutions or process improvements in alignment with the Solution Architect.
Process Modeling: Create visual representations of current and future processes using appropriate tools and techniques. Identify areas for optimization and efficiency gains.
Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate effective communication between IATA Business division, project teams, and technical teams both internal and external.
Ensure all stakeholders have a clear understanding of the requirements throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Solution Design: Collaborate with Solution and Domain Architect, as well as Designers and Development Team to translate business requirements into functional specifications, mock-ups, or prototypes.
Risk Assessment: Identify and flag to the Project Manager any project risks, assess their potential impact, and work on risk mitigation strategies to minimize negative outcomes together with the PM.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including requirement documents, backlogs, and any other relevant materials or templates.
Continuous Improvement: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions. Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend enhancements.

Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Proven experience as a Business Analyst to translate business requirements for technical needs.
Ability to manage concurrent projects, deliverables, and priorities without putting the timeline or quality at risk.
Experience with process modeling and data analysis tools.
Knowledge of Agile software project management methodologies, SDLC, and Atlassian tools (Confluence and Jira).
Knowledge of design or wireframing tools (Figma, Axure, or similar).
BA Certificates are nice to have.
