The Masterdata (MDM) Manager will oversee the creation, maintenance, and management of master data across various business domains (e.g., customer, product, supplier, financial). The successful candidate will lead a small team responsible for ensuring data consistency, quality, and governance across key systems, including CRM, ERP, CTRM (Commodity Trading & Risk Management), TMS (Treasury Management System), Inventory Management, and Production Management systems. They will work closely with business units and IT teams to align data management strategies with business objectives, ensuring that data is accurate, accessible, and reliable across the company.
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop and implement master data governance policies, procedures, and frameworks for all data domains.
* Ensure that Masterdata is consistent, accurate, and available across systems, adhering to business rules and industry standards.
* Lead the creation and maintenance of data standards, data models, and data dictionaries to ensure consistency across various platforms (CRM, ERP, CTRM, TMS, Inventory, and Production Management).
* Lead a small team of data management professionals, guiding them in best practices, process improvements, and day-to-day activities.
* Provide mentoring, training, and professional development to team members, ensuring effective collaboration and high team performance.
Business Requirements Gathering
* Work with business stakeholders across different departments (finance, supply chain, risk management, production, etc.) to understand and document data requirements.
* Translate business requirements into technical specifications for MDM processes, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
* Facilitate workshops and meetings to capture evolving business needs and incorporate them into the MDM strategy.
Data Quality Management
* Define and enforce data quality rules, processes, and validation checks for master data across the systems in scope.
* Lead data quality assessments, audits, and continuous monitoring, identifying areas for improvement.
* Collaborate with business and IT teams to resolve data quality issues and ensure clean, accurate, and reliable data.
MDM Systems and Integration
* Ensure seamless integration of master data between management systems.
* Collaborate with IT teams to ensure that data flows consistently and accurately between different enterprise systems.
* Collaborate with security and compliance teams to enforce data access controls and ensure the protection of sensitive data.
Performance Monitoring / Continuous Improvement
* Use metrics and KPIs to track the success of MDM initiatives and highlight areas for improvement.
* Conduct root cause analysis on data-related issues and provide recommendations to enhance data management practices.
* Lead efforts to continually enhance MDM processes, tools, and practices to meet evolving business needs.
* Monitor trends in data management and MDM technologies to recommend improvements and innovations.
* Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team and across the organization.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Data Management, or a related field.
* Additional degree or certifications in Business Analysis, Data Management, or similar fields are a plus.
* 3-5 years of experience in Master Data Management, Data Governance, or related roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership capacity.
* Experience with MDM tools/platforms.
* Proven experience working with multiple enterprise systems such as CRM, ERP, CTRM, TMS, Inventory Management, and Production Management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
* Strong knowledge of data integration techniques, data modeling, and data management processes.
* Experience with SQL, data governance tools, and ERP/CRM/CTRM/TMS systems.
* Familiarity with data security and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
* Successful experience in managing and mentoring a team.
* Ability to interact with colleagues of diverse cultures; respect for diversity.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify data issues, conduct root cause analysis, and develop data-driven solutions.
* Resistance to stress and time pressure.
* Agile and flexible mindset, reactive to requests.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Good IT skills; proficiency in Windows environment is expected.
* Proficiency in spoken and written English and French is required; knowledge of other languages is an asset.
* Swiss or EU national or holder of a valid Swiss working permit.
