Head of Finance (D/E)
Tasks
Leading the finance department and acting as the Finance Business Partner to the management and leadership team your main tasks will be:
Responsibilities
1. Financial Strategy and Planning
o Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organisation’s goals.
o Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis.
o Identify cost-saving measures, and risks.
2. Financial Management and Reporting
o Oversee preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
o Monitor cash flow, manage liquidity, and optimize working capital.
o Present financial results and insights to the leadership team and board.
3. Risk Management
o Assess and mitigate financial risks, including currency, credit, and market risks.
o Ensure adequate insurance coverage and safeguard organizational assets.
4. Regulatory and Legal Compliance
o Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
o Oversee internal and external audits.
o Develop and enforce internal controls to prevent fraud or errors.
5. Capital Management
o Manage relationships with banks, investors, and other financing partners.
o Allocate resources effectively to maximize return on investment.
6. Cost Control and Efficiency
o Monitor operational expenses and implement cost-reduction strategies.
o Drive efficiency in financial processes and implement automation where possible.
7. Leadership and Team Management
o Lead the finance team, setting clear goals and ensuring professional development.
o Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and align operations with financial goals.
o Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO.
8. Corporate Governance and Ethics
o Uphold transparency and ethical standards in financial practices.
o Support governance processes, including participation in board meetings.
9. Technology and Systems Management
o Oversee the selection and implementation of financial software and ERP systems.
o Use data analytics and financial tools to improve decision-making.
Requirements
Profile
* Higher degree in finance, economics or a related field.
* At least 5 years’ experience in a similar senior role in an international environment.
* Successful track record in the financial industry.
* In-depth knowledge and expertise in controlling, financial analysis & portfolio management.
* Self-driven, able to work independently and in a team within a cross-functional environment.
* Highly professional working style associated with a structured mind.
* Strong communication and interpersonal/networking skills with a proactive approach, as well as the energy and motivation to succeed in a dynamic and challenging environment.
* Solid knowledge of the Swiss finance requirements.
* Business proficiency in German and English language mandatory.
