Alpiq is using Microsoft technologies as its main provider for servers and Active Directory. While the Active Directory services is currently provided as a managed service from its outsourced provider, Alpiq remains accountable for its content, security, and instructs the infrastructure provider for updates on the service.
For our team Microsoft Stack, IAM & Intranet, part of the IT infrastructure services group, we are looking for an ambitious Microsoft Active Directory Expert. As Microsoft AD and System Administrator expert, you will be responsible for managing the content of the AD such as OUs, GPOs, Accounts or instructing the provider to perform the needed modifications as requested. You will also, as an internal consultant/expert, support our application responsible for how to work with Active Directory integrated servers. You are also the referent for the AD security at Alpiq and work closely with the IT security team.
Your main responsibilities
* Ensure smooth and permanent operation of our on-premise Active Directory infrastructure, keeping it “state of the art” according to Microsoft best practices.
* Support Alpiq to prepare and run a project for a potential takeover of the Active Directory from its current infrastructure provider.
* As Active Directory expert, you will be responsible for training operation people to ensure 1st and 2nd level support and will be responsible for incidents at 3rd level.
* Provide complete administration of the Active Directory environment and its capabilities.
* Implement and support security policies as requested by the IT security team.
* Permanently monitor the Active Directory for potential regression in its security level.
* Manage problem resolution to satisfactory completion by keeping abreast of assigned tickets and following the proper escalation processes via the ticketing system.
* Provide advice on business projects involving the Active Directory infrastructure.
* Monitor, tune, and improve the Active Directory service according to audits and IT Security demands.
* Implement sanity/routine checks to keep the maintenance as automatic as possible.
* Meet with key users to propose technical architecture, solutions, and improvements, as well as prepare their business case and added value for management approval.
* Prepare and propose the solution concept for the evolution of the current Active Directory infrastructure as part of the Alpiq migration to the cloud.
* You potentially will be part of the on-duty call team (24/7).
Your profile
* 8+ years of experience in Microsoft technology/Active Directory (Expert level).
* Expertise in writing PowerShell.
* Owning a valid Microsoft certification in the requested domain (security a plus).
* Knowledge and implementation of security tools to keep an Active Directory safe.
* Service and platform oriented.
* Strong analysis skills and ability to propose a solution architecture.
* Capability to write concept documents and present a solution to stakeholders on all levels.
* Proficient in English; German or French and Italian as a plus.
* Pragmatic, flexible (this position requires working outside business hours), curious, and motivated to learn new topics.
* Experience in working with different providers in an outsourcing context.
