The Corporate Strategy Team works directly with our CEO, CFO, business unit Presidents, and other senior leaders on a range of dynamic projects to support the long-term operational and growth objectives of the company, including organic and inorganic M&A. The Manager, Strategy leads delivery of strategy initiatives focused on one of the key business segments of the company.
The Manager, Strategy will be a core member of the strategy team focused on a key business segment of Thomson Reuters. The role reports into the Strategy leader for the segment and will partner closely with Product, Technology, Marketing, and Sales leaders in the segment as well as other members and leaders in the Corporate Strategy team. Based in Zug, Switzerland, they will interact closely with segment leadership to address key strategic questions, drive focus and prioritization for the business, and advance key organic and inorganic opportunities.
About The Role
In this role as a Manager, Strategy you will:
* Structure and lead strategy projects (or parts of large complex projects), focused on a key Thomson Reuters business segment, including growth strategy, M&A and partnership origination, the strategy planning process, or other key strategic questions facing leadership.
* Play an individual delivery role in executing complex, large analytical and problem solving modules of projects.
* Take the lead in creating deliverables and other outputs to document and communicate findings to senior audiences including business and functional leads.
* Collaborate with and present recommendations to senior-level stakeholders.
* Engage externally with customers and other industry participants to maintain a pulse on industry trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
About You
To be considered for the role of Manager, Strategy you will have:
* Undergraduate degree required and further relevant education preferred e.g. MBA.
* Fluent in written and spoken English.
* Knowledge of the domains in which Thomson Reuters operates, such as Legal and Tax.
* Minimum 4 years of relevant experience working in strategy consulting or in-house strategy teams.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong narrative and visual storytelling ability.
* Synthesis and simplification of complex ideas.
* Highly analytical with strong problem solving abilities.
* Ability to handle multi-tasking environment, meet deadlines.
* Proven experience working in large, complex, global organization with a successful track record of collaboratively working with colleagues across regions, markets, and cultures.
* Proven ability to build relationships and influence all levels within an organization including senior management.
* Broad business acumen with deep experience in a number of topics.
