Job Overview
Join our new Swiss state-of-the-art and automated production as a Facility Systems Engineer. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the electrical systems and infrastructure at the Swiss production site. The Facility Electric Systems Engineer reports to the Senior Manager of Facilities Maintenance and is responsible for the maintenance and functionality of all electrical operational facilities and infrastructures. This role provides strategic leadership in all electrical matters, leads projects in facility management, and drives continuous improvements in technical systems with the aim of establishing predictive maintenance for critical equipment.
The role includes two key phases:
1. Setup Phase: Practical oversight of facility installations and close collaboration with project teams.
2. Continuous Operation: Ongoing optimization of site infrastructure, improving facility performance, and data-driven maintenance processes using SAP EAM.
Main Responsibilities
* Responsible for all daily tasks in the area of electrical and control operational facilities, including the building management system (BMS) and environmental monitoring system (EMS).
* Planning, construction, and maintenance of SHL Medical's electrical systems - in collaboration with internal partners or external service providers.
* Support the development and implementation of a computer-based maintenance management system (CMMS); maintain all facility data according to manufacturer recommendations.
* Identify required spare parts for critical processes and ensure their availability on-site or from the manufacturer.
* Ensure compliance with all local building codes and legal regulations in building operations.
* Participate in initiatives to proactively identify optimization opportunities and implement projects to improve safety, productivity, costs, and quality.
* Effective problem-solving through rapid identification of root causes and implementation of corrective actions.
* Implementation and documentation of maintenance programs (SOPs) in the quality management system (QMS).
* Monitor and evaluate the performance of technical systems, troubleshoot issues that may impact production, and develop measures to minimize downtime and repairs.
* Enforce all health and safety regulations in accordance with national laws and company policies.
Minimum Requirements
* Completed training as an electrician EFZ or equivalent.
* 3-5 years of experience in facility management and maintenance of electrical operational facilities.
* Proven experience in developing and implementing effective maintenance programs (preventive & predictive).
* Strong hands-on mentality, especially during the project and startup phase - willingness to actively perform all necessary tasks for project success.
* 3-5 years of experience with a CMMS - preferably SAP Enterprise Asset Management or comparable system.
* Experience in medical technology (ISO13485) or other highly regulated industries.
Preferred Requirements
* Experience or training in Lean 6S & Six Sigma, continuous cost reduction, OEE improvements, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
* Strong organizational and project-related skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in facility management.
* Strategic mindset focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
* Practical knowledge of BMS and EMS systems.
