Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you will gain vocational experience through a temporary work placement (part-time, maximum 522 hours). You will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will showcase your expertise by supporting ABB's operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.
You will contribute to a more efficient and sustainable future by supporting the development of innovative power electronic controller solutions used in various traction converter applications. You will closely collaborate with our electronics hardware designers as well as hardware test engineers and gain insights into state-of-the-art electronics design and industrial design problems.
The work model for the role is hybrid. This role contributes to the R&D electronics development team in Turgi, Switzerland. The main stakeholder is ABB Motion.
Your Key Responsibilities
1. Build hardware test setups for component tests
2. Perform component testing, including measurements analysis and test report writing
3. Analyze and simulate electronic circuits
4. Document and present the results
5. Depending on interests, support the test automation with Python or TestStand scripts
Qualifications for the Role
* Pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Information Technology
* Familiarity with basic electronics design principles
* Interest in analog and digital electronics design
* Comfortable working in an electronic laboratory and not afraid of hands-on electronics work
* Proficient in English and German (at least B1)
* Creative and possess a quick comprehension, as well as an independent, structured and proactive working style
* Experience in LTSpice, PSPICE or other simulation tools and in Python is beneficial
* A valid VISA/work permit for Switzerland
