Description:
The Sr. Manager, Rare Disease Communications, is accountable for supporting the Rare Disease Corporate Affairs Lead in the development and implementation of an integrated rare disease communications strategy that encompasses internal and external communications, issues management, brand/corporate communications, and reputation management for Rare Disease, FA, SMA, ALS (reactive).
Accountabilities:
* Developing and disseminating communications around thought leadership, disease awareness, and data and regulatory milestones.
* Help strengthen Company's reputation in rare disease by enhancing, building and protecting Company's portfolio, brands, narrative and executing key rare disease initiatives that support and help drive the company's business strategies.
* Directly collaborate with the ICoE therapy area, members/task forces in BIR and EU and with Global Communications and Media to develop integrated strategies supporting the Company's FA and SMA products.
* The role encompasses supporting rare disease communications with external audiences (e.g., media, general public) across Rare Disease, FA, SMA.
* Support the Rare Disease Corporate Affairs lead with media relations, helping to provide counsel to the affiliates and the international regions including partner markets, European Region (EU) as well as assisting with responding to media inquiries and issues.
* Help advance the company's reputation as patient-centered and a pioneering organization in meeting the evolving needs of the rare disease patient communities.
* A major part of this role will be to support the Rare Disease Lead in guiding colleagues in the affiliates.
* This position requires strong collaboration and networking across the company, especially the international region. As a member of the International and Global Corporate Affairs team, this role will work cross-functionally with colleagues in global, regional and in the affiliates.
Requirements:
* 5-7 years of experience in corporate and/or marketing communications
* Native English speaker
* Bachelor's degree required ideally in communications, marketing, journalism or a degree in liberal arts or life sciences
* Communications agency and healthcare industry experience preferred
* Based in Switzerland working in the International HQ (Baar, Canton Zug)
* Outstanding verbal and written communications and presentations skills
* Strong business acumen
