A very exciting opportunity at an upmarket, 4* business hotel near Zurich for an experienced chef with a background in Indian/Pakistani/Nepalese or Sri Lankan cuisine. The role offers great growth potential and a chance to launch an Asian concept menu in a newly-refurbished modern setting with refined and diverse cuisine.
The ideal candidate has previously managed a kitchen and has strong experience in Indian flavours and techniques including a tandoor oven. Some spoken and written German is essential for the role, as well as the right to work in Switzerland.
Responsibilities:
1. Menu Development & Innovation – Design, test, and refine menus to align with the restaurant's concept and customer preferences.
2. Kitchen Management – Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
3. Team Leadership & Training – Hire, train, and manage kitchen staff, fostering a strong team culture and maintaining high performance.
4. Quality Control – Maintain consistency in food preparation, presentation, and taste across all dishes.
5. Cost & Inventory Management – Control food costs, monitor inventory, and ensure efficient use of resources to maximise profitability.
6. Collaboration & Communication – Work closely with restaurant management, suppliers, and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations.
