* Organize and process customs and foreign trade-related activities within the company.
* Improve the efficiency and accuracy of customs procedures.
* Organize import clearances to ensure smooth and compliant operations.
* Review customs duty notices and import invoices, ensuring corrections for any inaccuracies in declarations.
* Manage inward processing for aluminum shipments to comply with all regulations.
* Handle relevant CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) reporting including the operational import of relevant goods.
* Assisting in customs audits across Germany by providing necessary documents.
* Support the spare parts export & logistics department including export declaration and shipment organization.
You bring these skills, experience & education:
* Education: Completed commercial education, ideally with a focus on logistics, customs and / or international trade.
* Experience:
o Minimum of 5 years of experience in customs, import/export operations, or a related field.
o Proven experience working with German customs authorities and managing customs-related processes.
* Technical Skills:
o Knowledge of German customs regulations, import/export laws, and international trade agreements.
o Familiarity with customs software and systems (e.g., SAP GTS, ATLAS).
o Experience with inward processing procedures and CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) reporting.
o Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling complex documentation and processes.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with customs authorities and internal stakeholders.
* Ability to identify areas for improvement in customs compliance processes.
* Language Skills:
o Proficient command of English, both written and verbal.
o Proficiency in German is a must have.
