The Position
The position is located in the recently formed Nucleic Acid-based Medicine (NABM) team in Therapeutic Modalities (TMo). TMo is the global drug discovery function in pRED responsible for research and innovation in established and emerging drug modalities across all therapeutic areas in pRED. The NABM team drives technology platforms and therapeutic projects for genomic medicine, gene therapies, oligonucleotide- and mRNA-based modalities.
Role Mission
We are offering an unique outstanding opportunity for a Program Manager for Genomic Medicines - in our NABM team. You will work with multidisciplinary teams of scientists and leaders across pRED to jointly manage and shape our current and future NABM portfolio of internal and external drug discovery projects in the genomic medicine and gene therapy field.
Your Impact
1. You play a key role in building, shaping and strategically coordinating the NABM portfolio together with the NABM team, stakeholders in TMo and all respective pRED functions.
2. You lead a continuous and active dialogue with technical project leaders, project teams, technical functions and Disease Therapeutic Areas to align project needs and plans with capabilities and resource priorities within TMo.
3. You contribute to portfolio governance meetings to align on project strategies and their implementation within the organization.
4. You work on operational and strategic initiatives as a member of the Program Managers’ community in TMo.
5. You cultivate trustful relationships and effective collaborations within the TMo and pRED organization and with other internal and external partners.
Your Profile
You have a strong scientific background in genomic medicine- or gene therapy-drug discovery and are passionate about pushing the boundaries of science to discover and develop the genomic medicines of the future.
You thrive in a dynamic, inclusive environment which gives you full accountability and independence for your own contributions and development. You bring professional drug discovery experience, which optimally encompasses both portfolio or program management and preclinical project science preferably in one of pREDs therapeutic areas. This allows you to engage with drug discovery project teams, with an emphasis on program and portfolio coordination. You are resourceful and flexible in problem-solving and enjoy working in a collaborative and inclusive manner. You have a sense for ensuring that everyone has the required information at all times.
In addition you will bring the following skills and experience:
6. You have an advanced degree in life sciences
7. You have 5+ years of experience in drug discovery industry
8. You have a scientific background in genomic medicine or gene therapy, preferentially in Adeno-associated virus (AAV) in vivo gene therapy
9. You bring excellent interpersonal skills with a proven record in relationship-building, team engagement and working in a matrix environment across geographical sites
10. You are willing to travel
11. Your strong written and verbal communication skills allow you to transform complex topics into clear and concise messages and to run efficient meetings
