The Destinus R&D engineering team seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for aerospace to join our team.
Role Responsibilities
* Lead mechanical design projects for aerospace components and systems from conceptualization to manufacturing, integration, and testing.
* Create 3D CAD models, drawings, schematics, bills of material, and other required documentation for manufacturing, integration, and testing.
* Deliver technical documentation including engineering calculations, analysis, and assumptions to substantiate design decisions and solutions.
* Prepare and participate in design reviews.
* Manage suppliers and manufacturers by addressing technical questions and resolving issues during the manufacturing process.
* Select standard parts, fasteners, equipment, and consumables following best practices and industry standards.
* Contribute to DMU and configuration management.
Requirements
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering. Technician qualifications with substantial experience may also be considered.
* +5 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the aerospace industry.
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes: machining, sheet metal forming, composites, and additive manufacturing.
* Excellent CAD and PLM knowledge: part design, DWGs, DMU management.
* Good engineering material properties knowledge.
* Strong engineering fundamentals and analytical skills: dimensioning calculations, load path definitions, basic stress calculations, energy, and power.
* Seal and fastener design knowledge.
* Auxiliary component selection – general electro/mechanical components.
* ISO GD&T knowledge required.
* Fluent in English as working language. Spanish language is beneficial.
* Proficiency in Siemens tool suite: NX, TeamCenter PLM system would be a plus.
* Experience with metallic and composite structures design would be beneficial.
* Good to have experience with hydraulics, fuel systems, and component design.
