Job Description: The Chief Executive reports to the Board of Directors and his role is confined in particular to:
Give advice to the Board on how to approach or handle issues related to Human Rights.
Advocate and promote the Center and stakeholder change related to The Center mission.
Support motivation of employees who are working in the Center.
Prepare early reports to the Board about the achievements and successes accomplished throughout the year.
Visionary / Information Bearer
Ensure staff and Board have sufficient and up-to-date information in the realm of Human Rights in the MEANA region.
Look to the future for global dialog opportunities.
Interface between Board and employees.
Interface between the Center and other NGOs.
Decision Maker
Formulate policies and planning recommendations to the Board.
Decide or guide courses of action in operations by staff.
Manager
Oversee day-to-day operations of the Center.
Implement pre-approved early plans.
Manage human resources of the Center.
Manage financial and physical resources of the Center.
Build and sustain a reputation for quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Write and deliver press releases and handle all communication sent to other Government and Non-Government organizations.
Develop strong relationships with Commissioner Office of Human Rights representatives.
Responsibilities of Chief Executive Officer
Board Administration and Support: Support operations and administration of Board by advising and informing Board members, interfacing between Board and staff.
Program, Product and Service Delivery: Oversee design, marketing, promotion, delivery, and quality of training programs and consulted services.
Financial, Tax, Risk and Facilities Management: Recommend yearly budget for Board approval and prudently manage organization's resources within budget guidelines.
Human Resource Management: Effectively manage the human resources of the organization according to authorized personnel policies and procedures that fully conform to Swiss laws and regulations.
Community and Public Relations: Assure the organization and its mission, programs, and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders.
Fundraising: Oversee fundraising planning and implementation, including identifying resource requirements, researching funding sources, establishing strategies to approach funders, submitting proposals, and administrating fundraising records and documentation.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in international relations or Human Rights is required with a minimum of 7 years experience in a senior management position as Chief Executive Officer.
