GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
To provide quality psychotherapeutic services to adult, addictive disordered patients and their families, spouses, significant others; to serve as a member of multi-disciplinary team supporting the organization's treatment program and philosophy and assure the deliverance of quality treatment to adult and AD patients and their families. To provide assistance to the Director of Psychology, Operations Manager and Clinical Supervisor including mentorship of interns/trainees, scheduling of groups, individual sessions, psychological testing, and various intervention and treatment plans.
INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Establishes and maintains good rapport and working relationships to foster intra- and inter-departmental communications necessary for the delivery of quality patient care; responds to requests for information from patients, families, and caregivers; provides directions as necessary; reflects the confidentiality of patient and organization information; communicates pertinent information as necessary by telephone and/or writing.
INITIATIVE AND JUDGMENT:
Recognizes and responds appropriately to priorities in assignments; performs routine assignments independently, seeking direction when indicated for unusual or non-routine duties; advises appropriate personnel of situations requiring additional expertise or technical follow-up.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY:
Ph.D./Psy.D. in Psychology or will be receiving degree imminently and is at least masters prepared and qualified to register as a Psychological Assistant; experience in inpatient mental health setting preferred; written and oral communications skills; skills in case management, time management, and crisis intervention common to acute psychotic as well as to non-violent crises intervention practice; skills in administering psychological tests; knowledge of acute adult, adolescent, and child psychological disorders; advanced principals of abnormal psychology; familiarity with follow-up resource services available to adults, adolescents, and children; skills in conducting group therapy; skills in maintaining information as highly confidential; must demonstrate the ability to treat all age populations as needed or have the capacity to develop skills through the organization's cross-training, orientation program; ability to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical records documentation. In the absence of these qualifications upon hire, must demonstrate ability to learn these concepts and develop these skills within reasonable time frame.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB:
Climbing : Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.
Balancing : Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount and kind of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.
Stooping : Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
Kneeling : Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
Crouching : Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
Reaching : Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Standing : Particularly for sustained periods of time.
Walking : Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.
Pushing : Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
Pulling : Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.
Lifting : Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
Fingering : Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.
Grasping : Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
Feeling : Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture, by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
Talking : Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Hearing : Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.
Repetitive motions : Substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.
Light Work : Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
VISUAL ACUITY: MACHINE OPERATORS (including inspection), INSPECTION, CLOSE ASSEMBLY, CLERICAL, ADMINISTRATIVE: This is a minimum standard for use with those whose work deals largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, transcription, computer terminal, excessive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, operation of machines (including inspection), using measurement devices, and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.

* Completion of a satisfactory background and reference checks.
* Employee signed employment non-compete/confidentiality agreement
* Individuals whose position may require licensure, registration or certification must maintain such as current and valid. It is the employee's responsibility to send updated copies to Human Resources before the expiration date. It is the employee's responsibility to notify Human Resources of any changes or proposed changes in status to licensure, registration, or certification. Failure to do so could result in employee suspension.
* CPR certification if applicable to position
* Covid-19 and Flu Vaccinations; Medical
* Provide a copy of COVID-19 Vaccination OR have Exemption Request (Deferred Pregnancy, Medical, or Religious) approved by the API HR Director; and those who have an approved Exemption must undergo weekly COVID-19 testing and observe all other infection control requirements, including face coverings.
* Annual Flu vaccination is required as a condition of hire and ongoing employment. Only those who are allergic to the vaccine or meet contraindications as indicated on the current CDC Vaccine Information Statement shall be exempt from this condition of hire and ongoing employment but are required to wear a mask while inside an APIU owned or operated building or vehicle during influenza season, Employees must provide physician documentation to support any reported allergy or contraindication. Flu season typically runs between November and March.

* Complete a satisfactory physical examination at East County Urgent Care designed solely to determine your ability to perform the duties of the position being offered.

* Covid-19 Booster
• Effective January 7, 2022, in accordance with CDPH Public Health Orders, all healthcare workers (HCW), including Medical Staff who are booster-eligible, must be boosted or provide an Approved Exemption by February 1, 2022. Employees who are not yet booster-eligible and have an Approved Exemption must begin testing weekly through API’s Covid-19 Testing Clinic.
