For our future product development, we are looking for a talented and motivated Mechatronics Engineer who takes over the main responsibility over the mechatronics design. In this position you have the possibility to shape the future of our Smyze products by bringing your expertise into the team and maintain the already proven system of the Smyze Robobaristas but also drive new development projects all the way from concept stage to a finished product. Key Responsibilities PCB Design and Development: Design, test, and troubleshoot printed circuit boards (PCBs) for embedded systems. Work closely with cross-functional teams to define PCB requirements and ensure that designs meet electrical and mechanical specifications. Firmware Development: Develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware for the internal communication layer of our robots. Write efficient, reliable, and maintainable code for hardware interfaces, sensors, actuators, and communication protocols (mainly I2 C). Integrate firmware with hardware, ensuring robust system operation. Mechanical Design (CAD): Design mechatronic systems in CAD (Solid Works). Collaborate with mechanical engineers to design enclosures, mounts, and other hardware components that interface with electronics. Support prototyping and iterative design processes to validate mechanical and electrical integrations. Prototyping and Testing: Build and test prototype systems, including hardware and firmware components. Perform functional testing, and ensure systems meet performance. Analyze test data and troubleshoot issues in hardware, firmware, and mechanical systems. Collaboration and Documentation: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers. Provide clear documentation of design processes, test results, and changes to ensure seamless communication within the team and with other departments. Your Qualifications Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field. Experience in designing and developing mechatronic systems.
