Owner & Consultant at Hochstrasser Personal - Recruiting in commodity trading
For a successful, mid-sized commodity trading company located in the City of Zug.
You will be responsible for all VAT, direct tax, tax compliance and transfer-pricing related matters within the Group.
Duties and Responsibilities
VAT Specialist Tasks
* Conduct comprehensive indirect tax analyses on existing transactions, including those within the EU and overseas
* Provide clear guidance on VAT treatments/VAT risks for new transactions if needed in cooperation with local consultants
* Review tax clauses during contract negotiations to ensure compliance
* Ensure accurate issuance of VAT-related documents
* Oversee timely and accurate reporting of transactions
* Manage Swiss VAT (CH VAT) declarations and treatments, others in cooperation with consultants
* Develop and maintain VAT documentation
* Create and update a VAT manual for use by traders and administrative staff
* Collaborate with VAT consultants across various jurisdictions, extend existing consultant network where needed
* Liaise with VAT Tax Authorities and provide assistance during audits, as required
* Perform additional VAT-related tasks and reporting as needed
Tax Advisory and Transfer Pricing
* Conduct and maintain tax risk assessments, including the optimization of the current corporate structure
* Provide clear guidance on tax/TP treatments for new transactions
* Review supply chains to ensure compliance and manage risks
* Define and structure financing projects within the Group, focusing on tax implications
* Monitor and oversee corporate income tax implications across all Group countries in collaboration with local employees / local consultants
* Supervise other direct taxes, such as withholding tax and stamp duties
* Liaise with Tax Authorities and provide assistance during direct tax audits, as required
* Provide ad hoc tax consulting for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and other projects
* Conduct detailed analyses of all intercompany transactions within the Group
* Prepare and manage transfer pricing documentation in collaboration with external TP professionals
* Implement and enforce transfer pricing policies and guidelines across the Group
* Monitor general Intercompany transactions and assure its compliance with tax rules and laws
Tax Compliance
* Ensure and oversee timely and accurate filing of income tax returns
* Support site personnel to ensure smooth and effective tax processes
* Manage income tax reporting for IFRS group accounts of all group entities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Strong knowledge of general VAT regulations, willingness to learn local specifics
* Expertise in Swiss VAT (CH VAT)
* Solid skills in international tax and transfer pricing
* Ability to work effectively under time pressure and adapt to a changing environment.

Education and Experience
* Education in International VAT or significant practical experience
* Education in international direct tax and transfer pricing with several years of practice
* Preferably 3 to 5 years tax experience in an international trading environment
