In this position you will have responsibility for:
initiating the program(s) according to the strategic objectives of the organization
planning the programs from start to completion (operational readiness) involving deadlines, milestones and processes
successful execution of the programs: managing, monitoring, controlling, and reporting of program activities, expenditures, and team performance
developing and submitting business cases and ensuring appropriate funding
ensuring that every program will be delivered successfully and at the highest possible value to the organization
Provide leadership and direction to orchestrate the overall delivery of highly complex, global or local programs or projects. Assure benefits realization from the program and components projects
Align the program/project with the organizational or strategic direction that affects program and project goals and objectives
Develop a strong working relationship with program and project sponsors. Foster and manage successful relationships with senior executive stakeholders managing expectations and achieving successful program outcomes.
Role model leadership principles demonstrating collaboration and creating an inclusive environment oriented to trust, accountability, open communication, and creative thinking.
Interact with all global or local leads responsible for capital project management, operational readiness and validation & licensure of strategic capital projects and programs.
Manage interdependencies among the components of the program to best serve the program and the organization
Resolve constraints and conflicts that affect multiple projects within the program. Resolve issues between component projects and the program level. Collaborate with key stakeholders and project managers to provide feedback and resolve complex problems, keeping the ultimate business outcome as the primary goal.
Ensure that the program goals are met by providing a sound decision-making capacity to solving project issues that have program impacts.
Manage program/project execution risks that may impact multiple projects in the program including appropriate mitigation measures and responsibilities.
Manage change requests within a shared governance framework
Ensure robust financial governance.
Discover and initiate ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and resources. Leverage know-how, expertise & experience from each site/facility, across the various functions; apply comparable global concepts/strategies across projects and across sites.
Report progress and status of strategic capital programs and projects to Senior Leadership or Steering Committee. Work with program and project sponsors to ensure effective governance of these programs and projects is in place.
Contribute to and utilize existing standards and policy for Project/Program Management (as developed and evolved) which will provide best practice alignment and direction for projects to enable the management and oversight of all strategic programs and projects.
Continually demonstrate a growth mindset, acquiring new skills whilst maintaining your development and adaptability. Demonstrate thought leadership and presence in global project and program management professional communities, both internally and externally.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering or relevant scientific field (Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, Microbiology, Mechanical etc.)
BSc/BA diploma in management or a relevant field; MSc/MA/MBA is a plus
8- 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
Experience as program manager, project manager or other project management position.
Experience in interdisciplinary teamwork and in acting in matrix organizations.
Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods.
Proven experience in managing strategic projects, project management/risk and issue management and reporting in a highly regulated environment. Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation techniques (key metrics) and change management principles.
Program/Project Management Certification (e.g., PMI) desired
