The Opportunity
Today, Microcaps technology can be found in a cosmetic skin serum, encapsulated Fine Fragrance products, and vegan caviar. Our aim is now to expand our production capacity and introduce a visionary and sustainable water-based fine fragrance. Subsequently, we plan to incorporate all-in-one nutrition delivery products into our portfolio. Join us on our mission to bring Swiss precision to the realm of microencapsulation.
The Impact
As Formula & Product Developer, you are part of the Development Team that creates products for our customers. This means you develop products based on our existing Perfume Pearl Technology. This starts with POCs (proof-of-concept) to create the first Woo, continues with lab scale development, and is finalized with technology transfer to our pilot plants and industrial scale machines. In all project phases, you keep an eye on potential improvements regarding formulation, process parameters, and work instructions.
Your mission: Formula & Product Development from lab to industrial scale (end-to-end), whereas your results are QOTIF (quality-on-time-in-full) in all areas of responsibility.
Execution & documentation of lab trials; execution & documentation of technology transfer by planning & accompanying pilot plant & industrial scale trials.
Execution, documentation & assessment of stability & compatibility studies.
Support troubleshooting of out-of-spec (OOS) productions in collaboration with the Quality Team & Production Team.
Reformulate & optimize formulations to match optimal quality, regulatory & commercial requirements.
Write & maintain SOPs within the area of your expertise & daily work.
Take responsibility for laboratory operations assigned to you to support a safe, lean & efficient collaboration of the whole laboratory team.
This role is a good fit if you: Completed studies of Food, Cosmetic, or Pharma Technology; Chemistry or Bioscience Engineering (B.Sc./M.Sc.; UAS/University).
Alternatively: Lab Technician in Chemistry or a related area.
Ideally 1-3 years work experience in development of food, cosmetic or pharmaceutical products.
Enjoy working in a dynamic, process team-oriented & communicative environment.
Self-organized & precise way of working with an eagerness to learn new things.
You know already or quickly adapt to a risk-based reporting & find the balance between asking for help and executing independently your tasks.
Experienced in analytical methods like optical microscopy, viscosity, pH, & conductivity measurements; experience in chromatography like HPLC, GC, etc. is a plus.
Experienced in safe handling of chemicals, potentially dangerous materials, and equipment.
Training as 1st responder is a plus.
Partially flexible working hours, including a willingness to travel (10-20% on average).
Very good Office 365 knowledge regarding Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word & Excel.
Very good English (B2+) is a must; German and French is a plus.
