Job Description:
We are currently hiring a Credit Controller/Finance Assistant to join our Corporate Services team in Hartlebury, UK, on a permanent basis. This key role will be joining an existing team of management accountants and purchase ledger clerks. We offer genuine opportunities for enhancing knowledge and experience.
This position will report directly to the Group Financial Controller.
The Credit Controller will work as part of the Corporate Service team, posting cash in a timely manner and ensuring debtors ledgers are accurate, whilst providing reports to key account managers and senior management team.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Post cash on a daily basis for each bank account, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
2. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports of cash collected, variance to target, and bank balance, including accessing various online banking systems.
3. Liaise with the company’s business units/account managers to resolve customer queries and remove reasons for payment delays.
4. Build good working relationships with key account managers and ensure regular communication.
5. Monitor critical payment dates of key client monthly payroll invoices.
6. Alert the account manager and payroll team of high-risk non-payments impacting payroll release timing.
7. Perform credit checks of all new customer accounts and maintain monitoring activities against credit limits.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs Grades A to C including English Language and Mathematics or equivalent.
* AAT Level 2 or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
* Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
* Ability to manage conflicting workloads, priorities, and multitask.
* Proficient in writing business communications such as emails and letters.
* Ability to think laterally and solve problems.
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
* Deliver a high level of customer service.
