Role Summary
We are looking for two Post-Doctoral Researchers or Research Associates to conduct research in Multi-Modal Language Models, Artificial Intelligence Agents, and Action Planning for a project led by Professor Andrea Cavallaro, Dr André Freitas and Dr Damien Teney. These positions are for months each and full time, however flexible working arrangements can be considered.
Duties include
1. Carrying out research on the development of large language/multimodal/agentic models.
2. Assuming a leading role in a technical area related to the project and help supervise junior research staff.
3. Contributing to a variety of technical tasks such as model design, training, data preparation, and benchmarking.
4. Using initiative and creativity to identify and investigate appropriate research methodologies.
5. Contributing to the analysis, write-up, and dissemination of results ( conference and journal papers, project deliverables)
6. Participate from time to time in activities of the Institute as requested by the management.
Your profile
· PhD degree in a relevant field ( Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision).
· Demonstrated ability to conduct independent, innovative research.
· Experience in projects involving transformers and language models.
· Track record on generative AI as evidenced by publications in suitable venues.
· Proficiency in Python and PyTorch/TensorFlow, as evidenced by projects.
· Industrial-level experience on software development/machine learning modelling would be a plus.
Required language
Fluency in English.
