Job Description
The Global Tax Director will be responsible for Global tax reporting, tax accounting within SGS, Group tax policies and Swiss tax compliance.
He/She will work on a global level, in close cooperation with multiple departments, including Group Accounting, Regional Tax Directors and Global Treasury, Legal and Controlling as well as local Finance teams.
Primary responsibilities:
1. Manage, plan and monitor the effective tax rate and the cash tax rate for the group during the year, hard close and fast close;
2. Manage and coordinate the audit activities of external auditors;
3. Manage all tax related topics, tax provisioning, tax risk management (in Tax platform), current and deferred tax calculation for the group for all 5 reporting cycles during a year;
4. Facilitation and preparation of all tax related topics regarding the consolidated financial statements of SGS group in IFRS;
5. Manage and update the Group Tax Policy, tax control framework and tax procedures being in place in the group;
6. Initiate and manage publications such as a Tax Transparency report and Public CbCR;
7. Manage and update the Minimum Control Standards Tax of the group and the tax risk management process of the group;
8. Active collaboration with HQ peer group initiated by SwissHolding or similar organizations
9. Manage tax audits and tax audit requests for the companies in Switzerland;
10. Preparation and negotiation of requests to the tax authorities in Switzerland;
11. Preparation and optimization of tax returns for each Swiss entities, preparation all tax documents and reports for the Swiss tax authorities;
12. Preparation of objections to the Swiss tax authorities and submitting appeals to the Cantonal and Federal commissions;
13. Optimization and reorganization of legal entities within Switzerland, review valuations of operational companies, review all legal documents, transfer investments and financing requirements;
14. Loan financing, capital measures, thin cap or interest barrier rules of Swiss countries/companies;
15. Assisting with set up of new legal entities or liquidation/closure of legal entities and branches;
16. On-going review of tax saving opportunities, tax credits etc. together with local Finance;
17. Support Corporate development in acquisition and divestment projects within Switzerland
Qualifications
18. Degree in business administration, tax law, accounting, or a similar field, with a strong academic record.
19. +8-10 years of experience in corporate tax and IFRS (IAS12) with large multinational companies, on a global level;
20. Deep international knowledge of tax legislation and accounting principles and a comprehensive understanding of tax laws and accounting standards in the key regions;
21. Experience in a broad range of international tax issues, including tax reporting, tax accounting, policies, Swiss tax compliance, etc.
