Vice President of Global Technical Operations
The role is responsible for enabling the growth strategy through developing the new product processes in collaboration with R&D, ensuring new products are ready for launch into the supply chain, and responsible the lifecycle management of existing product portfolio, the management of technical resources (providing technical expertise within SC and External Manufacturers) and labeling resources supporting Johnson & Johnson Med Tech Surgery which consists of over 16000 SKU’s generating over $9.4B in revenue. This role is responsible for collaborating with R&D and Commercial team to develop strategies to effectively launch products through new process technologies solutions that enable compliance, scalability, and profitability. Responsible for compliance and performance of commercial products, including, SKU rationalization, remediation activities, as well as development and execution of solutions that support meeting commercial products performance and profitability. This position is responsible to have an effective communication and partnership with end-to-end supply chain leadership to ensure current and future business requirements and business objectives are met. This position is responsible to build effective relationships across internal and external supply chain partners to ensure understanding of the requirements of sector supply chain (plan, source, make, deliver) and will partner effectively with external manufacturers to ensure that business needs are met (quality, delivery, cost, etc.).
The position reports to the VP, Supply Chain ETHICON and is a key member of the E2E ETHICON Supply Chain Leadership Team. Participates on / engage with global management boards and/or senior leadership teams as required.

Key Objectives and Responsibilities
* Enable Ethicon growth strategy through ongoing design and execution of Customer centric end to end (E2E) Value Chains to deliver optimal Quality, Delivery, Cash and Cost performance throughout the entire product lifecycle.
* Develop and lead a world class team of end-to-end business leaders capable of designing and executing E2E winning value chains in a continuous improvement environment.
* Responsible for leading critical Supply Chain strategies while acting as a key member on the ETHICON Supply Chain Leadership Team Create and execute Lifecycle and NPI continuous improvement strategies to ensure we achieve and sustain competitive advantage in product performance throughout the value chain.
* Provide technical leadership and core expertise to deliver component, equipment, and manufacturing technologies.
* Provide high level strategic program management along with strong technical leadership while developing a robust pipeline of technical New Product Integration (NPI) and Life Cycle Management (LCM) leaders and engineers.
* Able to develop and lead technical Directors and Managers who can drive decisions with R&D, Quality, Commercial and Manufacturing.
* Develop competencies of other key Operations managers who are responsible for development and commercialization activities and who represent end to end Supply Chain for all New Product Development projects, integration of New Products into Manufacturing and driving lifecycle management, sustaining activities, and other operations responsibilities.
* Ensuring product development teams implement, support & deliver business results consistent with an aligned launch and stabilization strategies across the key NPD functions. Develop and execute against gross profit targets both pre and post launch, Stabilization targets, and overall growth strategies for all technology platforms.
* Representing the Platform/Business Unit to Ethicon business, the VP identifies, communicates, and partners with supply chain to ensure current and future business requirements and business objectives are met. Expertise at achieving consistent business results in a highly matrixed environment.
* Setting strategy and direction for the identification, development & implementation of manufacturing processes to enable the commercialization of new/revised products while delivering on key financial and stabilization targets
* Develops the strategy and provide direction on cost optimization initiatives related to materials and any design changes
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
* Strategic Vision and Leadership - Assess future needs and develop and deploy a technical, talent and business strategy to address those needs
* Provide key Process Engineering capabilities to support manufacturing for all internal and external manufacturing sites
* New Product Introductions – Drive partnership with commercial and R&D to take customer insights and develop them into new product concepts. And taking these concepts, optimizing the product and process design and launching with a focus on Supply Chain readiness, timeliness, scalability, stability, and optimal cost of goods.
* Lifecycle Management - Maintain, operate, and enhance (simplify, speed up and reduce cost) the LCM process for the End-to-End the Med Tech Surgery business from NP Introduction to End of Life.
* Project Management - Ensure excellence in Project Management in the execution of projects and provide PM best practices for entire E2E Supply Chain.
* Scout, select, and implement Advanced Capabilities (automation, process engineering, digital etc.) to support future growth and cost improvement in the platform.
* Operations and Engineering Management - Partner with manufacturing sites and oversee the technical standards and best practices.
* People development – develop key technical and managerial leaders for the Med Tech Surgery Supply Chain business. (Identify, build, reinforce and retain critical technical capabilities and a pipeline of technical leaders that can be leveraged across the E2E, as well as provide opportunities for development)
* Cost Optimization – provides direction to a dedicated group to deliver cost savings for ETHICON for direct material and any design changes delivering cost savings commitments as per LRFP
* Key member of the ETHICON Supply Chain Leadership Team, reporting into the VP ETHICON SC. Accountable to maintain seamless collaboration within SC and across the functions that support ETHICON Supply Chain. Expected to collaborate, share, and learn best practices from within Jn J Med Tech and through expert communities and academia.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree with a a degree in engineering or technical field
Minimum 5 years of people management experience
Experience in the development and introduction of new products
Minimum 10 years of business experience in engineering or R&D
Minimum of 7 years with management responsibilities
Manufacturing experience (accountable for manufacturing or equivalent experience)
Experience in a completed cycle of new product development.
Experience in lifecycle engineering (maintain design intent; programs directed to LCM)
Experience in leveraging business excellence and lean; as well as automation and new technologies deployment
Strong business acumen (P&L ownership with MBA preferred), Demonstrated Technical Leadership skills, Judgment & decision-making skills
Organizing & planning Interpersonal relationship & influence; ability to balance schedule, cost & quality, teamwork, Managing & developing others
Able to work in a changing environment (flexible), Problem analysis & resolution.
Strategic planning/portfolio management
PREFERRED:
Higher education (MS or MBA), ASQ certifications, LEAN Mfg
Bilingual English/Spanish
Previous Sr. Leadership Team experience
10 years in Medical Device or related business
10 Years of direct technical service &/or Engineering support to manufacturing
Proven track record of strategic Supply Chain leadership of multiple operations or businesses
Proven track record in successful organizational and people development with large and complex organizations required; global organizational leadership
Project management mastery (eg., years of experience of project management) (5 yrs of several significant project mgmt. experiences required.) PMP certification preferred.
30% Domestic (US) and international travel may be required
