Your role and responsibilities
As a participant in the Global Early Talent Program in Electrification (EL) Strategy, Business Development & Sustainability you will engage in meaningful tasks from the very beginning. You will rapidly build your skills and experience through a series of exciting, cross-functional, and international assignments. You will deepen your leadership skills and soft skills, building an extensive network within ABB. The skilled people you work with, the projects you engage with, and the global scale of our business will give you the experience you need to build a career in Strategy, Business Development or Sustainability.
1. First assignment in Zurich with Electrification Strategy and Business Intelligence as an introduction to the business.
2. Second assignment abroad to get an overview of ABB’s operations in a different environment/role and work on an exciting assignment with a different team, expanding your network.
3. Final assignment back with Electrification Strategy, Business Intelligence or M&A, Ventures or Sustainability team in Zurich, where you will deepen your knowledge of the business and your function, and your technical and soft skills.
During the last assignment participants will meet in Zurich, Switzerland for a week of training focused on leadership competencies development. The last rotation will also be the time where the participants start to look for their final position, to be started after the end of the program. All program trainings are meant to build the foundations of your future career evolution.
Common Responsibilities
Depending on the assignment role you will be in, most common responsibilities include:
Strategy
* Support in the delivery of key annual strategic processes, e.g., EL Strategy Refresh, Capital Markets Day
* High-quality analyses to address complex questions in a pragmatic manner
* Contribute to strategy projects – accomplishing goals against partially tight deadlines or in regular updates on strategy and market insights to the Executive Committee, and EL Leadership team
Business Intelligence
* Support the delivery of insightful reports related to market landscape, competitors, segments, technologies, etc.
* Support the delivery and evolution of key annual market insights processes & tools
Personal Development
* Corporate purpose and values and creativity
* International and virtual teamwork
* Leadership and management skills
* Analytical skills
* Presentation and communication skills
Qualifications for the role
* Recent graduate (Master’s level) in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or related fields
* Previous initial work experience in relevant fields such as strategy consulting, corporate strategy etc. can be considered
* Advanced analytical skills – structuring, problem-solving, modeling for addressing complex problems, high level of curiosity, initiating engagement with others, professional fluency in English, other languages are a plus
* Good knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, and PowerBi is a plus
* Team spirit and global mindset
* Attention to detail and accuracy
* Eligibility for work permit in Switzerland, e.g. Swiss or EU/EFTA citizen (we will not sponsor a visa application for this role)
