Job Description:
DB Switzerland SA is one of the largest foreign banks in Switzerland, covering WM activities while Asset Management and Investment Banking activities are covered by the DB Zurich Branch and Deutsche Asset Management entities. DB employs 600 people in its locations in Zurich (Prime Tower and Uraniastrasse) and Geneva (Place des Bergues). Post COVID, the Bank has introduced a new work strategy and Policy allowing a balance of work from Home as well as from Office as part of an overall strategy across the Group.
The comparable small size of the overall onshore Finance team (12 FTE) covering all Switzerland wide Finance responsibilities and the integrated approach allows access and exposure to most processes within the Bank from front to back. The international team both in Switzerland as well as in our shared service centres in Manila and Pune offers a wide range of opportunities for cross-cultural interaction.
The specific role supports all aspects of the Regulatory & Risk reporting to both external stakeholders (FINMA, SNB, Audit, Tax) as well as internal stakeholders (Board of Directors, Executive Management Committee, Asset Liabilities Committee, Treasury, Lending, and Credit teams). The profile of the role is a senior resource reporting to the head of the Regulatory team.
The main activities of the team encompass:
* Daily Liquidity reporting (LCR, Stress testing) and issue management with Treasury, ALM, Lending, Deposits teams.
* Local daily capital adequacy reporting and linkage with lending teams regarding material variations.
* Group Risk reporting for all regulatory credit risk data submissions. The predominant business in Switzerland is Wealth Management with a large lending book within DB Suisse. Production processes are also supported by the extended teams in India.
* Market risk reporting (delivered from offshore teams).
* Statistical reporting to SNB (all onshore).
* Monthly Financial Reporting under Local GAAP.
* Maintenance of Systems, interfaces, processes, and controls.
* Close interaction with ASSL / Avaloq and FiRE vendor.
* Support for business initiatives, e.g. new credit transactions and impact assessment on capital, liquidity, market risk, P&L.
* Training to FO on regulatory matters.
* Preparation of various management presentations on key regulatory requirements and developments.
* Engagement with external bodies (National Working Groups, AFBS, external Audit) regarding regulatory developments (e.g. SA CCR, CEM, Basel III finalisation etc).
* Key contact for External Audit process.
The reporting responsibility covers DB Suisse SA and offers a significant degree of independence and responsibility. The Bank mainly uses industry standard banking platforms & applications such as Avaloq, FiRE, and SAP, which offers optimum training and development opportunity for banking professionals.
Local reporting to Swiss National Bank and FINMA is run from the FiRE system solution (standard banking application in Switzerland) and is entirely supported within Switzerland. Reporting is based on a standard interface from the Avaloq core banking system (WM business).
Reporting line to Finance Manager in a team of 3 FTE.
Candidate Profile: Semi senior to Senior
Experience Level: 5+ years experience in regulatory reporting within a banking environment, therefore having sound knowledge across a broad range of banking ordinance, regulations, and FINMA circulars. Experience of dealing with senior stakeholders or team management skills are important.
Languages: High level of proficiency in English required with German or French.
IT skills: Strong experience of Avaloq and/or FiRE is a requirement together with strong IT skills required in office tools including presentations.
Candidate professional background: Finance related degree, experience in large audit practice or qualified accountant.
Individual: Strong team player ability given relative small team size and scope of team responsibility and the individual should have ability to work with complex reporting requirements. Significant exposure to the Country CFO, Regional Treasurer, Senior Lending specialists, & Head of Credit Risk Management requires high level of interpersonal communication skills.
