Job Title: Planning Engineer
Key Role Statement
The Planning Engineer will manage and coordinate planning and scheduling activities for the project as part of the project controls team. This role requires on-site presence in Visp for a minimum of four days per week and is not a hybrid position.
Deliverables
1. Manage and update the master Primavera P6 schedule at various levels.
2. Track and measure progress in engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning using various tools.
3. Maintain schedule basis documents such as deliverable and interdependency matrices.
4. Lead or assist cross-functional teams in interactive planning sessions, ensuring inputs align with site and project planning procedures.
5. Monitor schedule deviations and variances, assisting in developing corrective action plans.
6. Communicate progress and key milestones to all relevant stakeholders.
7. Prepare and provide schedule progress reports, critical path analysis, trending charts, and schedule analysis on a periodic basis.
8. Ensure schedule quality and governance, maintaining credibility in schedule data.
9. Engage in analyzing integrated project schedules from each discipline.
10. Review schedules with project team members regularly to ensure accurate and timely updates.
11. Prepare reports in accordance with project procedures and requirements to provide status updates and highlight critical project issues.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
1. Education: Degree or advanced degree from an accredited institution. Preferred fields include Engineering, Science, Quantity Surveying, or Business Management, or equivalent experience.
2. Language: Excellent command of English is required; business fluency in German is an advantage.
3. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience as a project planner on large-scale (≥ 250 Mio CHF) pharmaceutical projects.
4. Extensive experience managing, administering, and working within a multi-user Primavera P6 project environment.
5. Strong ability to interpret schedule data effectively and communicate relevant insights to senior management.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and influencing abilities.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
8. Experience working in a global environment.
9. Knowledge of pharmaceutical projects involving Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) contracts.
10. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze large datasets, draw meaningful conclusions, and support informed decision-making.
11. Ability to manage ambiguity, adapt to shifting priorities, and meet changing demands.
12. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
