Regulatory Mgr Taste & Functional Ingredients
1. As Regulatory Manager, you will work within the newly created Ingredient job Department (IBU) to provide support for the development & commercialization of new innovative products.
2. Provide expert assessment, interpretation, and positioning input to internal and external stakeholders as a subject expert on regulatory topics on ‘Taste & Functional Ingredients’.
3. Set up the advocacy strategy for ‘Taste & Functional Ingredients’ related ingredients and their business opportunities.
4. This role involves close collaboration with multiple internal IBU and Givaudan partners (e.g., global/regional regulatory, scientists, product management, sales, communication, operations), as well as customers and other external team members (e.g., regulatory authorities, trade associations).
5. The role reports to the Head of Regulatory Science & Advocacy IBU.
6. The role can be based in Avignon, Naarden, or Zurich.
Role and skills:
1. Support the Head of Regulatory Science & Advocacy IBU as assigned with scientific and technical contributions.
2. Act as a proactive partner for Science & Innovation to facilitate the commercialization of innovative products.
3. Develop the regulatory assessment/action plan for new ingredients and processes developed by Science & Technology (S&T) group and IBU developers.
4. Be the business partner for S&T regarding regulatory and scientific questions on S&T projects and provide training on regulatory topics.
5. Understand global registration requirements for applicable regulations to support compilation and filling of regulatory submissions.
6. Act as the regulatory science subject matter expert for the area of ‘Taste & Functional Ingredients’ and support the teams with focused and clear guidance.
7. Stay informed about the latest regulatory and scientific trends and industry changes, and proactively communicate updates to the organization.
8. Collaborate with regional teams to gather and consolidate regulatory information.
9. Develop, share, and coordinate regulatory science advocacy strategy and related guidance in line with the IBU’s Taste & Functional Ingredients business to enable regional and local stakeholders to activate advocacy activities.
10. Review and validate communication strategy and its implementation with the relevant IBU and Givaudan stakeholders.
11. Provide regulatory guidance to global and regional IBU stakeholders and support actions that are to be taken.
12. Contribute to the development of the overall ingredient ‘Staircase’ action plan, focusing particularly on the regulatory science and advocacy actions and strategy.
Professional profile:
1. University Degree (minimum Master) in a scientific field such as Nutrition, Life Sciences, Food Science, Chemistry, or related disciplines.
2. 10+ years of relevant regulatory experience in Food, Nutrition, or related industry.
3. Knowledge of food industry regulatory issues and trends, understanding of customer regulatory requirements and market dynamics for food ingredients and flavorings.
4. Solid understanding of the scientific foundation of the ‘Taste & Functional Ingredients’ ingredient portfolio.
5. Strong communication (both written and oral).
6. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
7. System proficiency; SAP experience is a plus.
8. Business fluency in English is required and proficiency in other languages is a plus.
